I'm pretty certain that there is no such thing as a USB to Firewire adapter. In fact, I think it's impossible.

I couldn't get back to my mac to work at all with 10.5.0. I was very disappointed considering, I had renewed my .Mac account just for this one feature.

However, 10.5.1 brought with it a fix for whatever was causing it to not work for me. I'm sorry to hear it's still not working for other users. Make sure you're running the latest update.

I've had nothing but trouble with those Macally enclosures. The first one I had destroyed the partition on 3 different hard drives. They sent me a replacement and this one is acting wonky too. So I dunno what the deal is.

"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
