One place I will accept ads is on their new tv shows dowloads.
All the shows they charge for can be watched for free on the network websites. All you have to do is sit through 3-4 30 seconds ads (which is a lot less than watching the show on TV)
I would gladly sit though a few ads on the zune while watching The Office if that meant I could download it for free vs $1.99
Don't you all agree?
I would watch a few ads during a movie too, if I could download it and watch on Zune for free.
I disagree that they are in two different categories.
Just because one is flash and one is hard drive does not put them in different categories.
I agree flash is a plus and so is the size factor.
But they are both marketed as music AND video players with features such as FM radio. Flash is still a bit pricey to compete in the high capacity market but in a year from now I am sure the prices will be more in line and hard drives could fade away. Trust me I love Creative products, I just replaced my ZEN Micro 5gb after 4 years with a Zune (I almost bought the 16GB ZEN but could not justify the capacity difference)
Too bad they could not sell this bad boy for $250.
If so I would of snagged one. 80gb from a Zune or iPod Classic for $250 vs. $350 for only 32gb from the ZEN. It's going to be a tough sell.

This work around does not really create a "real" autoplaylist. Unless I am missing something.
My Creative ZEN has a playlist (on the MP3 Player) called Rarely heard. Everytime I click it I get a different set of songs that have the lowest playcount on the player. It's a great playlist because it ensures that you will heard every song on your device an equal amount of time. With this workaround you create the playlist in Windows Media Player. When I transfer it over to the ZUNE it will only play the exact songs brought over, it won't update itself on the ZUNE. For example I made an autplaylist for 20 songs that have a playcount of three or less times. So 20 songs on my computer that have been played less than 3 times are part of the playlist. The same songs are now showing up on the zune. However after they are played three times on the zune, they are still showing up on the playlist. I have to have them play more than 3 times on my computer then sync the playlist again. On the ZEN the songs would change on the player once they no longer had the lowest play count.
Did any of this make any sense?
Wow this device has gone through some changes. The one that was shown earlier in the year was a huge brick and I think it was high capacity hard drive based. The huge screen made me think it was going to play video too (no mention of that in this post). Now we find out they are going to try and charge $300 for an 8gb device!!! Only 10 hours of playback too?? Good luck with that!!
Sad thing is that the slacker web radio station is great, I used it every day, too bad this mp3 player looks like it's going to be a huge bust.

www.bumpnlump.com

I have tried Best Buy, Walmart and Radio Shack, no one had any clue that they were even supposed to be out yesterday. None of them had it in stock either.
Weird to set a launch date so far out and when it finally comes they are nowhere to be found. Trying a local Target tonight. You also cannot get a customized 80 off the zune originals web site, only the flash ones are available.
Thanks guys. Guess I need to learn how to use Windows Media Center which is on my desktop computer in an area not near my TV that also does not have a WiFi Network.

Other than music videos and podcasts, where the heck do you get legal video content for a Zune? iPods have iTunes, Creative and Sansa have Unbox, Walmart, and other sources. Seems like they are missing the boat here.

another answer from anoter sandisk rep:

"Yes, eventually – but not currently – fanfare.com is meant to work with other “Screens” – portable media players, mobile phones and even your computer/PC."

curious how this matches up against the new zen which to me is it's direct competitor. looking forward to some reviews.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
