Can we have a banner saying that at the next MGC, Marshall?
You could pair up a RetroZone flash cart with one of these and it would work exactly like you described. Downside is that it's kinda expensive...
It's just solder :D It makes it easier to apply.
Ladyada's project was my inspiration.
It would be fun to nab one of these for a car computer.
I'm going to have to claim my nerd creds here and inform Engadget that the actual mechanism used for the N64 joystick is different than GameCube or Wii controllers. The way it works is somewhat similar to how a trackball mouse monitors the motion of the ball with photodiodes, whereas a GameCube joystick uses a couple of potentiometers.
What on earth? G-force built this like three years ago! Kinda behind the times there Darren...

It WAS an awesome portable, however.
It would be cool to find a cheap LCD monitor with a touchscreen panel on it and attach this to the back of it. I would definitely put that in the kitchen for recipes, some YouTube, or whatever.
Maybe Engadget would do well to run portable mods by the Benheck community to see if, you know, it's an actual mod. "OOooooh, I connected batteries! And a completely unmodified screen! Screw making a new case for it!"
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
