I was one of those Black Friday Walmart purchasers and even though HD DVD is going down the drain, to me it was a pretty wise investment...

Purchased the player for $100 and got 5 free HD DVD's, then soon as Warner backed out, eBayed the player for $150. And just a few days ago got the 5 free DVD's and eBayed those for $50.

HD DVD's over and I sure as hell didn't want to be stuck with a worthless player, however for me was a good run being able to use it for a few months and still make out a worthwhile profit!
Support/Updates end April 14, 2009?

What the hell? They really expect the millions and millions of XP users around the world to all upgrade or replace their machines in order to use Vista otherwise they are on their own?

Even though some people may find it hard to believe, many users are perfectly happy with using an older computer with XP on it and do not have a need for anything more powerful.

Plus considering how horrible Vista is, only thing I can say is this is crap. Way to go Microsoft.
No, the mistake I made was picking a CDMA carrier period. Sprint and Verizon both have some good phones but you missed my point. You are still stuck with their selections and can't switch up whenever you want to w/o having to call them and get the new one activated and deactivate the old one.

Does Verizon allow you to buy a phone from Korea or anywhere else that will not get released in the US for several years?
Been with Sprint for 8 years, once my contract is up in a few months I'm ditching them...

even though the HTC Touch seems decent, I'm not going to get it...

...will be switching to AT&T b/c I am sick of all the CDMA phones where you are stuck with a particular phone and have horrible choices. I want to have the freedom of a SIM card, to use any phone I want from across the world and maybe even switch between phones on the same day if I feel like it.
Not very manly???

Really, well give me the status, power, and money that Bill Gates has and you can call my sitting position as gay as you want.

While you're at it, make fun of my haircut as well.

In the end it's still you making fun of how he sits and him laughing all the way to the bank...or whatever island he feels like visiting today on his private jet.
Um. Yeah you are all way off topic.

If I wanted to hear about how things are going in Iraq I'll start watching Fox News.
Maxed out with all the bells and whistles:

$12,040

Give me 5 of them.
From time to time, Best Buy does have some killer deals that are rare to even find online.

In general though, everything is overpriced b/c of the "convenience" factor.

I do make it a habit to check their weekly ad and once in a while something will catch my eye as a crazy deal that I can't find anywhere else....not even newegg.
Manuel,

Best Buy DOES have their own brand of tv's...

Piece of shit Insignia

Guess 7:35 wasn't early enough then.

I got there at 7 a.m. and there was like 50 of them stacked up, so I went to grab one and they told me to leave them on the shelf until 8 a.m.

Then a few minutes later a bunch of people start grabbing them so I say fuck it and grab one for myself and mill around the store for an hour until I can check out with it.

They were enforcing a one per customer limit and they were all gone pretty quick.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
