if they have text-to-voice. why can't they have voice-to-text?

this would be the only safe way of texting, just by speaking...

we need smarter AND SAFER phones!
wow! a little googling and come to find out I was not alone! A complete monorail line was presented to Los Angeles in 1963!!! Idiot politicians!!!!!!!!!!!

now why can't they build a bunch of these around los angeles? they look nice, and you don't have to tunnel underground. they definitely look better than new york or chicago subway. never understood why I've only seen them at disney...
I have a cheap little watch from Kmart that I never wear anymore.
and the clear winner is... appleinsider.com
I thought the idea of GPS was silly until I used my wife's on a vacation we took. Two of the most dangerous things to do while driving is trying to read a map, and looking for an address in an unfamiliar area. With GPS, I could find anything easily, even in a strange town. Not only that, I could immediately find the specific kind of restaurant I wanted, or where the nearest gas station, hardware store, or drugstore was.

I am sold! (on an official Apple version, that is) It would be ideal for the iphone and make it more indispensable. And yes, I'm an excellent map reader. But GPS offers more!
I just bought a new MacBook. I am considering returning it and waiting... The MacBook is nice but doesn't excite me much. If it does not excite me, I won't use it that much. I would love something smaller, lighter, more portable for odds and ends stuff and traveling. Otherwise, the PowerMac and iMac at home are sufficient. A slick overgrown iphone with a real keyboard and lightweight 12 inch display... SEXY!
I just upgraded from an old VGA projector to the HD70 (720p). The picture is much better than I had and the contrast is great! My only complaint is the fan is kind of noisy - a little bit noisier than my 6 year old Epson.

I wish it was as easy to find ultra-quiet replacement fans for 110v as it is to find them for 12v computer fans. Anyone have any ideas?
want one! what does it do?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
