As an artist and a graphic designer, I can see how this would speed up my workflow providing that it has a certain level of accuracy that would allow me to select nodes and small icons. I would think that this would be sweet to work with when pulling bezier curves in Ai. What I would like even more is a touch Cintiq that would have an intelligent way of snapping your finger touches to the nearest selectable object no matter how minute it is. We can dream, can't we?
I am just doing my part to raise the bar in here (you are right with the picture, it wouldn't have been as funny with two platypuses on there...oh wait, now come to think of it, it would have been even more hilarious)
I wear a watch on one wrist (to tell time as a glance) and this on the other wrist to see who's callin'. While I listen to music, I won't have to pull my iPhone out of my pocket to answer it (if it's someone I want to talk to right away). Ordered it....may not look so bad balancing out the heft of my Rolly GMT II.
I have worked in a SonyStore for over 4 years and have also owned an iPod shuffle/4G/iPhone and have to say that I have found the relative quality from the two companies pretty much on par with each other. As for the price, I would gladly carry this around with me to handle all of my media seeing that it has a much better screen and probably sound quality than my iPhone has. Open your minds past brand names and look at functionality before hype.
I have been using Shure E4C's for over a year now and they sound awesome with only a single armature driver. I just made the order today and will be able to see before Christmas how they compare with my beloved Shures. I have an iPhone I will be using it with and I am more interested in sound quality then I am to pick up my calls and looking like a fool talking to himself.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
