I don't like having something on my screen at all times like this, and if I do go that route, prefer it to be somewhat unobtrusive. I opted for iStat menues and have the date up top that pulls down with more info

The link above shows what it looks like, not the one from the post.
Even if you can only play 5.5 hours of video, I still want to be able to keep my entire photo library and music collection on my iPod, so I don't see them ditching the large drive-based ipods anytime soon, perhaps the 30GB would be replaced with flash, but that's probably it. It would likely match the 80GB battery life if they went that route as there wouldn't be a disk to spin up.
would it be possible to bail on the contract but keep verizon as a carrier? I like verizon, but would love to not be stuck in a contract.
I like the design of this phone, at least conceptually. The screen on the previous model (9800) was excellent, and having the ability to open it up for texting is also a welcome feature. However, I think it still may be too thick for a phone that, ultimately, doesn't give you full PDA functionality. My new-every-2 is just about up, and it'll be between this and the new VX8600. I'll have to hold both and see how the size of this new one is.
"For starters, the new 10.1 megapixel CCD surpasses Canon's own higher-end EOS 30D for resolution"

Not to be a stickler, but it's a CMOS sensor, Nikon uses CCD's
I'd like to see a better way to browse artists by letter. You have a scroll wheel, so have a circle of 26 letters. Scroll around to the letter of choice: 'S' for Spind Doctors, and you're there. I think the current setup is a bit wonky, especially if you have lots of artists. Seems like a no-brainer to me, but what do I know
In my opinion, Microsoft missed out on a HUGE opportunity when it launched the Xbox 360. If the hard drive for the system was a removeable audio player, it would have been in every sytem that shipped, and xbox live could have been utilized as a music service as well. Basically, if you bought an xbox, you'd have this device as an audio player, and would most likely use it since it was alredy there, as opposed to shelling out another $400 on an iPod
I saw this on another site, and it's my understanding that they were just patenting the idea for a product. This isn't coming out anytime soon. They're just waiting for someone to come along and make it so they can sue. Gotta love capitalism . . .
Everyone who thinks this is sacrilege has obviosuly never been to blockbuster. Same idea, and I'm sure that's how they see it. Missed it? Well, we recorded it and you can rent it if you'd like. iTunes is an entirely different structure, and I'm sure they know that. But it's not such a horrible, horrible rape of television as some of you seem to think.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
