The PATRIOT Act has absolutely NO increase in power for the police. However, people *think* it does, so police are able to use this misconception to there advantages.

But that laptop at walmart weighs much more than 2 pounds, certainly won't get up to 3.5 hours of battery life and can't easily be held in one hand. All of the miniaturized components aren't cheap.

The Eee isn't in the same class as the walmart computer. Direct comparisons don't apply.
Leonidas heaving his spear at Xerxes' face has got to be the best scene.
"...the CE261 ... classes it up in black, and ... "

That is the correct conjugation. Stop being a douchebag.

Its too bad that isn't the Santa Rosa platform.
From the data sheet: Chipset: Intel 945GM Express
All of the processors are either 533MHz or 667MHz, Santa Rosa has 800MHz FSB and the 965GM chipset.
@DBL:
"Apple, DO NOT CRIPPLE MY HARDWARE IN ORDER TO CODDLE IDIOTS, thank you very much."

First of all, it is written in software.

Second, what do you think /Applications, /System and /Library are? They are just glorified symlinks to /usr/, /etc/ and all of the standard Unix directories. They did this specifically to coddle the Mac users (idiots?) so they don't have to worry about "all that unix stuff". If you don't want to be coddled, you are on the wrong operating system.
I don't think waiting at a wal-mart for 10 hours while THE Ohio State University v. Michigan game is on can be considered an impulse.

Sony marketing == asshats
No, if you get it now, or the final version, then it is free for you to keep forever (or the life of the wii, I guess). If you don't get it until after June 2007, THEN it will cost $5.
ya i think the d-pad would be good to scroll with.

p.s. posted from my wii! and not too hard either
Ever heard of tinyurl.com?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
