NYC cab drivers say "no thanks" to GPS installation {Engadget}
Mar 10th 2007 7:38AM I was talking to a driver in Philly in the cab the other night. Basically, they really don't like them. His reasoning was pretty much "we get tracked everywhere."
I asked him if anyone had paid by credit card, and he said that it only happened once or twice so far. However, what's really odd is that I've seen (a few times now) people pull the "Oh crap, I don't have enough money" and then the cab driver just says "go to the damn ATM" rather than use the credit card thing - it's like they don't even know it is there.
Another cabbie said that he had started using the GPS - but only when he went to the suburbs, because the streets out there are all fucked up.

Jan 21st 2007 10:18PM I got one today - but I may have to do the repair thing. I've been trying to get on the Wii Shop channel all day, but the system just sits there saying "Please Wait, Connecting" for a long long time.
I don't get any error codes, but I can't connect to the shop.
MacBook Pros go Core 2 Duo, at last {Engadget}
Oct 24th 2006 11:26AM M. Rod - I also just got a D620, and I'm extremely pleased with it. The screen is excellent - I've heard that there are quality issues based on where the notebook was produced, but I'm finding it to be a solid, fast computer with a very nice screen.
I wanted a MacBook, but I wanted C2D more - I'll probably end up selling or giving this D620 to my sister or my dad after Leopard comes out, though.
