More leasing woes: Ford Credit takes big hit on trucks and SUVs {Autoblog}
Jul 28th 2008 6:26PM Really puzzled? I sell cars currently as well and while at first it'll hurt yeah...But its not like we only do leasing through Chrysler Financial, hell half of our customers secure leasing through their bank or credit union before even coming in. PLus there are plenty other banks in our neck of the woods we can go through.
Leasing may be a bit more expensive than it was, but i think its high time people get a wake up call and realize you cant just lease a 30k + car/truck for under 200 a month anymore.
As for GMAC... since CF and GMAC are BOTH owned by Cerberus... i wouldnt be surprised if they pull the same stunt.
Saving money is saving money in the long run and i would half to imagine GMAC takes a bigger hit than CF
LittleBigPlanet allows users to charge for created content {PS3 Fanboy}
Jul 20th 2008 6:40PM Wow a bunch of whiny naysayers on here today.
Ok big deal, so one two or maybe even 3 content creators (independent content creators) will be able to charge $.50 or even up to $2 for a map
I'm sorry i'm not seeing the big deal here, especially if theres tons of other free to DL content. Not to mention its not like we cant make maps ourselves in our free time...
So once again i'm not seeing how this "ruins the game" for anyone?
Wouldnt that be like complaining that there are AWESOME maps some people just dont feel like sharing? Does that ruin the game too? Knowing that there will be people out there creating content you cant access?
EA: LucasArts and BioWare building KOTOR MMO {Joystiq}
Jul 17th 2008 4:18PM I wonder how you would get the great bioware narrative with an MMO.
As great as some stories are in MMOs they're generally not very strong story wise due to the sheer number of people.
I'd be happy with Lucasarts just letting SWG go back to pre NGE (kinda liked CU...). and having another KOTOR would be nice, with multiplayer aspects (2+ player RPGs FTW).
Still i ownder how long it'll take to get this out? My bets are 2011.
PlayStation Home's public areas region locked {Joystiq}
Jul 17th 2008 9:22AM But bucfann... you can pretty much do anything in PSn that you can do in live... RIGHT NOW.
You dont HAVE to use home for anything, i mean seriously if home is a sore point for you... you must hate XBL because of the coming "Avatars" which is in essence almost the same thing.
But of course it'll take sony a while to flesh out everything...PSN is what? a year and a half old? Xbox live has had nearly 6 or so years to get its stuff together.
Either way, Sony is catching up pretty quickly in terms of functionality and I think thats a good thing no matter which way you cut it... you shouldnt have to pay for xbox live anyway.
Netflix coming exclusively to Xbox 360 'at no additional cost' {Joystiq}
Jul 14th 2008 2:41PM Nice, isn't home supposed to have the functionality to watch movies with friends that are in your "home" space as well?
Either way neat on both ends. I dont quite care for netflix (I have a PC hooked up to my TV if i need to stream anything), But for those that have that service, this is a nice coup on MS's part.
here's to hoping Sony and Ninty have some neat surprises on their end as well.
Peering into the depths of Qore {Joystiq}
Jun 6th 2008 12:50PM Well no people say xblive is a rip off because you HAVE to pay to play...this is just an extra...meaning i can still play and not have anything to do with Qore...see the difference Nato?
Its like complaining over the difference between having to buy gas for your car, or some mud flaps. Ones needed and one i just an add on.
Harrison elaborates on the future of single-player games {Joystiq}
May 28th 2008 12:12PM I dont think it'd be that hard to do on either system with an online component goo.
I mean if its running through a server, its almost elementary for a company to be able to track statistics. Live and PSN almost dont have to do anything.
But as with GTA4, i think it'd be neat to have a stat tracking service kind of thing for a majority of games
Nielsen VideoScan High-Def market share for week ending May 18th, 2008 {Engadget HD}
May 24th 2008 7:06PM Wow Nfinity....Did Sony kill your parents or something?
Of course nevermind DVD was pushed on people over VHS with no viable competing format,
But you are right... Nintendo and Microsoft and even Toshiba ALWAYS have the consumer in mind...of course they never think about lining their pockets like sony.
Come off your high horse man, Digital Downloads are still years away from being viable for more than 5% of the population at any accessible speeds.
I find it funny you'll diss game consoles, and HDTVs and such in your arguments and then you'll do a 180 if it comes to something you personally (for whatever reason) agree on.
Did the fact that HDDVD got shut down hurt your feelings that much on physical media you had to go to the polar opposite?
Is it even worth arguing over at this point? Digital Downloads or physical media... dont you think these companies will make their money either way it goes?
Wii could surpass US Xbox 360 install base this month {Joystiq}
May 16th 2008 4:22PM Congrats to the Wii, everyone i know who is a gamer has one....
But then they have PS3's and 360's they play too So i guess its a wash from my perspective.
I have one, and to be honest i dont play it Much, but its the defacto party system (when we're not playing Buzz or Scene it)
SOE president sees more MMOs on PS3 {Joystiq}
May 13th 2008 3:34PM Well wes in regards to SWG... i know the game was killed... i played it from beta all the way until "NGE" but here's the thing, Its not soley SOny Online's fault... its a Lucasarts property, NOTHING happened in the game unless Lucas arts OK'd it.
Thus why i say LA killed SWG, they essentially ok'd the revamping of the whole systems from skill based to level based and broke the whole damn works in the process.
AS for VG, that game was buggy from the start and probably would of never been released unless SOE bought it... dont forget even MS turned down publishing rights for it.
I think Brad had too broad a vision and no way to back it up, i recall some of the original devs saying as much, lots of vision lack of implementation and all that jazz.
Either way the game probably wouldnt still be on Life support if SOE hadn't bought it out.
