Vision Research already makes HD resolution cameras that can record at up to 1000 frames per second and you can check them out at www.visionresearch.com
Vision research was the first company to put a CMOS sensor in a video camera over 6 years ago. They have been at the forefront of Industrial Highspeed cameras for over 10 years. I worked at a car crash test centre in Australia and have extensive experience with their Phantom range of High speed cameras. Guys we have been doing almost HD-res (1600 x 1200) at 1000 fps for close to 2 years on indusrtial cameras. The difference with these new cameras is that they have been built with commercial applications in mind and so have different criteria such as lens mounts, image quality etc. Can they deliver - you bet they can!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
