Apple apologizes for its MobileMe mess, admits bungle on "push," offers 30-days free {Engadget}

Jul 16th 2008 5:34PM Always on does not mean Powered on......It means it is always an active node on the internet!

Push technology, or server push, describes a style of Internet-based communication where the request for a given transaction originates with the publisher or central server. It is contrasted with pull technology, where the request for the transmission of information originates with the receiver or client.

Apple's MobileMe is not push!

Apple apologizes for its MobileMe mess, admits bungle on "push," offers 30-days free {Engadget}

Jul 16th 2008 12:13PM PLEASE...PUSH is a word used for always on, always connected IP addressed device that the server sends data to when ever needed!

A device that connects, gets an IP address and then syncs to a server every few minutes to get updates is not a PUSH enabled technology, That is called PULL!

BlackBerrys are the only fully True Mobile PUSH devices at this time!

PUSH is not about speed as Apple thinks!

Again Apple is a great marketing company and a great designing company but as we all can see from some major enginering fauz paux's it's not and engineering company!

How would you change the Apple TV (take 2)? {Engadget}

Feb 18th 2008 2:07AM HUH??? (doctorspoc) WTF? Why are you such an A$$ saying I havent used one? Your short sightedness and narrow mind makes you look like a jerk and ignorant!

Damn dude, your reasoning would indicate there doesnt even need to be a HD in the unit....stream everything! I guess you don't understand why apple put hard drives in these units huh? and they have a 40 and 160gb drive how odd that must be for you! But it's not really needed according to you!

However, for me, I'd like to take content the the cabin or on the houseboat and have my whole library of content with me! 160Gb just dosent cut it and I'm not going to set up a network and a media server at the cabin!

So, open your mind and even more important...don't cut people down for wanting something different than you! It makes you look like an ignorant fool!

How would you change the Apple TV (take 2)? {Engadget}

Feb 15th 2008 7:00PM 1. My first take after upgrading is the user interface. It was not the clean, sleek, handsome, and sexy interface that I have come to expect from Apple. It really looks more like a cluttered rushed mess to get this out to door but then that is the interface Steve showed last month.

2. Let's get a Blue Ray/DVD drive in this thing and then were talking about using one device for both My new and future downloaded content and my old several thousand dollar investment in DVD's and Blueray.

3. Allow me to add USB drives to store more content!

4. How about an Additional or different remote. It's small and easy to loose, but give me some kind of keyboard for inputting searches etc... OR allow the BT mac keyboard.

5. Downloaded movies and shows should not be edited to remove content deemed inappropriate by apple YES, they do remove and bleep things from questionable content but your just forcing me to still buy DVD's. I thought you wanted to transform the delivery of content....then don't assume everyone here is a conservative church going bible thumper! I'm ok with warnings making sure I understand what I'm downloading but give me the option to choose full artistic content or a warm soft easy to eat bowl of oatmeal with too much milk. Were big boys we can handle the truth. You have a child security feature already....?

6. If you Ever offer additional USB Drive support so I can expand my library, I would like the option of larger file sizes and better HD content! I could care less if the Simpson's movie is compressed to death but I'd like to own the true HD content for Lord of the rings!

7. Give me a remote port on top to Sync my iPod! Or let me plug in my docking station! Most evenings I only go into my home office so I can sync my two ipods! let me do this from any Apple TV or iTunes!

I'll keep thinking!
