Given that CNG is a fossil-based, non-renewable, and relatively inefficient fuel, I fail to see how this is a positive development.

If the trucks are diesel, switching over to biodiesel would be a much better "green" initiative.

Anything that will make it easier to switch from Verizon sounds good to me--they have to be one of the worst companies on the planet!

It's also interesting to think about which regions will benefit the most from emerging renewable technology. Probably places that have R&D and manufacturing infrastructure, for example western Pennsylvania.
I love the idea of planting a tree over my grave--it's all about the circle of life!

Mine is leaving my computer on all the time...I just can't seem to break myself of the habit!

One of the other things about natural cleaning products, though, is that they are easy to make yourself! This doesn't help sales, but I'm sure there are enough people out there not interested in making their own cleaning concoctions to support growth in this sector.

Another reason this is a great option is shown in the picture--since it's concrete, you can make custom shapes and build grooves right into the countertop. Nice idea.

In terms of raw emissions, hybrids are better diesel, but production of disposal of the hybrid batteries needs to also be considered. Batteries have lots of nasty things in them, like corrosive chemicals and heavy metals, and the mining/production of them produces more nasty stuff.

It might be the DIYer in me, but I'd much rather invest in putting alternative energy sources, like solar panels, on my home itself!

We should be careful about government subsidies, though--if they are too steep, they may stifle innovation in green technologies.

In some cities with observatories, the streetlights are all yellow so they interfere less with observing the night sky. It seems like all street lights should be solar-powered with LEDs, and it would be easy to make those yellow LEDs for less interference.

"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
