My Feb06 360 is still happily chugging away with no RRoDs... now, I did have to send it in for optical drive replacement, which was a net gain as they gave me the newer much quieter drive after repair.

I definitely dig the NXE, but have had a few lag/freeze issues. If it sticks for too long, a power cycle does the trick.

Big improvement. Would love to see Sony do a firmware change of this magnitude and have it run smoothly. ;)
Really? That's one of the biggest complaints i've heard from iphone users. To me, one of Apple's greatest victories and assets is that they can convince macheads that they actually don't NEED features, just because they left it off.

I use my cut_paste on my Blackberry 7130 EVERY day. Creating new contacts, replying/quoting, etc. But I guess it's superfluous, right?
I'd want to go up against a brute. I'd just kick it in the nads.
That scene where that guy with his shirt off kills some other guy. Oh yeah, and they scream.
eek. ...and there lies the biggest problem of feed-reading. Especially when you read two blogs that usually post simultaneous, almost-identical articles pretty consistently.

Yeah. This is Engadget. NOT Gizmodo. Sorry, guys.
What!?

How can a notebook even come CLOSE to being considered a desktop replacement with a Radeon Express 1100 chip? I could be wrong, but anytime i've seen that video chipset, it's been integrated.

So tell me why I should spend this amount of $$ on a sub-standard brand with horrible customer service and no capacity for self-service with integrated video?

How about we really take a look at the details of these things before we just throw a company's press release up on the main page? I mean, i've been searching for 15 minutes and I can't find any information that states what size memory is allocated for the graphic adapter.

Gizmodo-folksen, can you get this info? It's kind of a big deal if you're going to sell a "desktop replacement" notebook which is going to even think of running Vista Home Premium with its basic capabilities.

Come on, guys!
Yeah, and Eris help ya if you need to try and find parts for these little buggers.

They're nothing but a throw-away notebook. Cheap, and not horribly bad, but throw-away nonetheless.

They don't sell any parts, so they pretty much force you to send them in to them to get repaired at a much higher cost than you'd be able to find in a local service shop.

I recommend to my customers that they stay away from them.
Keep in mind these things, though:

The "express upgrade" is a completely new SKU. So, make sure when you buy a new PC that you're getting the express upgrade option. Any OEM Windows XP SKUs floating around until the express upgrade SKU comes out on the 26th WILL NOT QUALIFY.

This isn't going to be a problem if you buy a current model from a big OEM, but if you get a clearance system or a system from a small builder, you'll want to be careful. If you try to redeem the deal with a non-express SKU, MS won't let you!

Oh yeah, from what i'm seeing, Ultimate isn't in the deal. You can go to Premium, Business, or Basic. Who cares, anyway? If you're not using a Windows domain at work AND using the same PC as a media center, why do you need Ultimate? Don't be a "Gotta have anything called Ultimate" sheep.
Cool!

"One Step Beyond" by Madness
I'm gonna guess there'll be an Intel bunny-person in there?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
