So if I tricked you into drinking poison, that's OK? Or if I tricked you into drinking too much of ANYTHING, it's ok?
She may not have been the smartest girl (although how many really know too much water can kill?) to try this, but does that give someone the right to trick her into something that could kill her?
Sure, there's a difference between making someone drink too much water and drinking poison, but you tell me, where does one draw the line? What is OK? What is not?
The radio channel crew knew it could be lethal to the contestants - a nurse CALLED IN BEFORE the contest was held and told them ON AIR - so they can hardly say they didn't know.
The codec/compression commonly used on HD-DVD right now is also available on Blu-Ray. They would look identical if the content on the discs were produced in the same way. And unlike you claim, there are reviews of MI:3 stating they look AS GOOD even if MI:3 uses MPEG2 on Blu-Ray. They could've used the same codec/compression for an identical result as well. And no matter what Microsoft does, they'll NEVER win the japanese market because they have very few titles that interest japanese gamers (even if they have managed to sell a console or two in japan lately). And without the Japanese market, well they may still take a cut out of Sony's market share (based on last generation) but they'll never win it. And if you haven't lived in Japan, dont come claiming you know the market there. BetaMax lost for one reason. Sony refused to let the porn industry use BetaMax. They've learned their lesson and invited the porn industry to do so this time (although some smaller porn studios favor HD-DVD either way, as it's cheaper to buy the equipment for manufacturing initally). Sony will win the Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD war. They'll likely come ahead in the PS3 vs XBOX360 game world-wide too, but it may be at a lesser extent than the XBOX vs PS2 where they crushed Microsoft.
#40 "TAxes have NOTHING to do with it - the tax is a set rate percentage" Are you fucking stupid?
The US NEVER includes taxes in their pricing. 7-8% is added AT PURCHASE (in about 47 states) The UK ALWAYS includes taxes in their pricing. 17.5% is ALREADY INCLUDED IN THE PRICING.
How the FUCK does that not affect the pricing that you see, THERE'S 17.5% ADDED TO THE UK PRICE? Go back to 2nd grade math you illiterate fuck (or wait, are you still in 2nd grade?)
When game studios develop games for your PC, whether it has a 3.6GHZ Intel processor or a 2.23GHz Dual-core AMD, 512MB or 4GB of ram, a DVD player, a Blu-ray or a HD-DVD drive it's NOT a common development platform so they can't develop games that MAXIMIZES performance for your computer, they have to make sure it runs properly on EVERY FUCKING SYSTEM OUT THERE. With the PS3 (and to a lesser extent the XBOX360 - due to its inferior hardware) they can develop games that accurately use the hardware to 100%. When you get off welfare in 3 years and get a real job and you can actually afford a real HDTV at 1080P, you'll also notice the difference - because by then the PS3 will still be capable of 1080P - while the XBOX360 wont.
#41: Sorry, but Sony learned from their mistake last time - by banning porn from the Beta-max format they dug their own grave. This time Sony has learned their lesson and are actively pursuing the porn industry to make sure they won their acceptance (and they did), so with the porn industry supporting them AND the extra 20 million Blu-ray drives out there in 2 years they'll still win the format war. Even with a less-than-average amount of movies due to not being "true" Blu-ray drives in the PS3 (consumers wont buy them JUST to play Blu-ray movies, so they can't be considered "true" Blu-ray drives) as far as consumer trust goes, they'll still add enough purchased Blu-ray drives and Blu-ray movies to allow them to dump the price to nothing quicker than HD-DVD.
The PS3 is clearly the better machine. It pains me to buy an XBOX360, seeing as it has no support for the 1080P that my projector can handle, and no 1080P that my 2 pre-ordered 1080P TVs can handle, but sure, I'll have both the XBOX360 and PS3 (Sadly for Microsoft, my XBOX360 will feature 99% pirated games though, while the PS3 likely wont..)
For you idiots on both sides of the pond, the pricing in the UK *INCLUDES* the 17.5% VAT which is mandatory in Europe (and up to 25% in some European countries) while the US pricing NEVER includes the 6-8% tax (Yes, I know it's 0% in a few select states).
The 17.5% extra VAT obviously increases the price 17.5% at least.
If you can't afford the 17.5% extra, buy it from the US, lie on the customs form stating what the value is and hope it supports 220volts.
Give up on the fcking complaints about the PS3 cost and hardware already. If you're a poor fcker, dont but it at $600. All Sony needs to sell is about 10 million PS3s in stage one. After that they'll be able drop the price CONSIDERABLY. No matter if you idiots buy it or not - they will reach this threshold because the Japanese market is behind Sony 100%. Japanese people are (largely) very nationalistic and will never support the Microsoft emporium no matter what. Add to that the amount of titles for the Japanese market - developed for the PS3 by Japanese game houses and the Japanese market will continue to (largely) boycot the XBOX[whatever they stick after it]. After this price drop, Sony will be able to hit the average stupid/poor consumer in the US/Europe.
And once they win the Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD war, they can dump the prices again as they'll make enough on Blu-Ray alone to cut the prices on the Blu-Ray drives to nothing in the PS3.
As far as features and hardware goes, Sony are feature-proofing their system. 1080p may only be used by 10% of their customers at launch (I'll be one of them, having both a projector and 2 1080p capable TVs - either Sony or Samsung - at the launch) but in 3-4 years, BEFORE the 3rd-gen consoles are out, they'll be available to most consumers. The same goes for Blu-Ray. Sure - few games are impossible to fit on 8GB today (though there are some), but in 1.5-2 years there'll be game studios that can properly utilize the 50GB Blu-Ray space to a maximum.
Oh, and for the idiots who say Blu-Ray is another Beta-Max - dont worry, Sony learned their lesson the first time around when they blocked the porn industry from using their format. Now they're instead inviting the porn industry and due to the additional features, additional space the porn industry will largely use Blu-Ray.
Sony has a projector out - the Sony VPL-VW100 that does true 1080p. They're also releasing new sets this September that are true 1080p (Samsung is doing the same, based on the same LCD panels from their joint factory).

"I'm in the market for a new laptop, and I want a 13-incher. I need something with a great keyboard for typing, as this will mostly be used for note taking in class. I am absolutely smitten with the XPS 13, but I'm afraid that with its age Dell is going to give it an update soon. Any advice for someone in my shoes?"
