I hope HGTV comes up with a ghost-related show soon. My house is full of ectoplasm-stained drywall and I'd really like to know the best technique for repairing or replacing it.
"Demons" was a good example of how a show that follows a proven formula can fail, and fail horribly at that.

It's a new look at a familiar character -- or in this case a descendant of a familiar character. Everyone remembers Van Helsing from Dracula, right? Well, no, and that horrible film didn't help. So hey, when the execs decide that our working title, "The Last Van Helsing", isn't going to click with the kids, we'll accept their input and go with a more generic title because we're team players. What's the worst that could happen?

It features a well-known actor from a recent cult classic... Too bad Mr Glenister is apparently so worn out from all the work he's had playing Gene Hunt that he used "Demons" as a way to discourage future employers. Perhaps if we hadn't had to cut the scene where we explained that his character had been infected with an evil virus that turned him into an American for a few hours a day, whose effects he was doing his best to fight...

It features high profile guest stars in villain-of-the-week roles. Of course, we need the audience to be able to recognize those guest stars, so most of our demons will be of the latex-prosthesis-of-the-week variety, and therefore rather ludicrous.

It includes a distinctive catch phrase -- "grade 'em and smite 'em". Unfortunately, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you think about it. If you're going to smite them no matter what, why bother grading them first? We never see anyone putting these grades (and by grades we mean type of demons) into a database or anything, so what's the point?

It includes a "good" hot girl and a "bad" hot girl... Actually, we did quite well with that bit. Unfortunately, 42 minutes of either of these women simply walking down a street is more interesting than any of the scripts we've written.
Very cool to see that SYTYCD has finally brought choreographer Kelley Abbey to the US -- it's just a pity that she wasn't available sooner. Last night's opening number was a clear shout-out to an opening piece she did for season two of SYTYCD Australia, which IMHO is one of the best things *any* SYTYCD has ever aired.

That Jennifer Lopez song was utterly loathsome, but it was great that she was backed by former and current contestants. Still, I wish Cat had pressed J-Lo to actually *name* a few of her favorite dancers from the show.
If they'd really wanted to embarrass the US, they'd have captured the video and put it on YouTube.
Lily's "smoker voice" would've been a lot funnier if they'd only used it once or twice instead of beating the joke to death.
Vanessa William, whoever she is, might disagree.

Unless I missed something, 'Phoo Action' was just a pilot. Thank heaven.
I want to see the episode where the mattress place gets sued into oblivion for using "Jump" in their (90+-second!) TV spot without licensing it.

Better yet, I want to see the real-life legal case in which someone uses this episode to beat a piracy charge.
"One more thing... starting today, your new Mac isn't just a computer -- it's a revolutionary new desktop organizer. We call this feature PaperWeight, and it's built into every new Mac. Let's say you've got an unruly stack of papers on your desk -- I don't, but many of you probably do. I just received this pile of legal documents from Psystar, so we'll use that for a test. Now, the papers are on my desk; there's a little breeze in here, and I'm worried that maybe they'll blow away. So I just take my new Core i7 iMac, and -- look at that. The papers are motionless. And that feature is in every new Mac, starting today. Those papers still aren't moving -- see that? It's an incredible document retention system. And next year, we'll be adding that same functionality to iPhone."

"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
