This is impressive. I'd like to see it in public/commercial places in the future. Could be used for advertising and who know what the heck else you can come up with... especially with the interactivity.
The smooth and intuitive interface.
And to add to my previous comment, the screen being washing out has nothing to do with brightness/contrast or focus. Both are fine.
It's the way the camera meters the light. The camera thinks that the area surrounding the screen is the main subject, and not the screen itself. Zoom closer and eliminate as much of the surrounding space as possible and you will see the screen. It's like the reverse effect of taking pictures at the beach and everyone you take pictures of turns out like a dark shadow.
this is stupid. i don't know how the speech recognition works exactly, but this seems really far fetched to be called a "vulnerability." its like trying to make a problem when there really is none. i mean, how long would you have to let the computer talk (and you not doing anything about it) before it does something damaging... IF it is even possible at all? not exactly realistic. its not like some random website is going to play an audio clip that says "format computer now!!!!" and it would actually like... do it.

THIS IS REDICULOUS. It is NOT the DS Lite that is the problem. This is a software issue. Since when could a microphone tell the diffrece between an American and a Japanese accent? Man, that must be some pretty smart mic.

Note: Shouting louder will make it worse. You have to talk as the right volume with no background noise. Otherwise, its just a problem with your speech, and also in part due to far-from-perfect voice recogition in the game.

To think this is an issue with the DS hardware is absurd. We should all know this.
"the first step is admission that you have a problem"

Engadget has such great writers. Heh.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
