If MIDs are supposed to be affordable, etc, why are they so goddamn expensive? $649.99?

For that price you might as well go get a (crap)top from Best Buy or something that has better specs.
@redringofdeath

Stereo Bluetooth wasn't added due to the developers, which made a reasonable decision. They couldn't write the code for A2DP in time, so they didn't release their half-finished code.

"The Android Bluetooth API was pretty far along, but needs some clean-up before we can commit to it for the SDK. Keep in mind that putting it in the 1.0 SDK would have locked us into that API for years to come."

Google Talk wasn't included because it needed to be fixed up for security concerns.

That image is disgusting.
That's nothing. My Compaq (with OSx86 on it) pulls about 80 degrees Celsius just idling.

Crotch burner, no?
Seems practical enough - now if they'd make something that could, say, charge a typical laptop.

On an unrelated note, is it me or is it that comment text is getting greyer and greyer?
1: Remove the GPS lock ENTIRELY. If I want to use an AIRAVE in Japan, hell or high water I'll do it.
2: This shouldn't have a monthly fee - it's YOUR internet connection!
3: GSM version of this would be nice.
Oh yes... the beloved i-Opener. They failed on so many levels with that.
I broke mine by messing with QNX's configs on startup, never hacked the BIOS or even replaced the OS on mine.
Gooooooood times.
Sorry.
I'm a bit impatient at times >_>
Amol, I'm assuming by "pwned" you mean "lied about the contest" you were holding in the contests?

Considering I've tried emailing you about the contest before (and about maybe some info on the hardware behind it) and gotten no response, I'm probably assuming so.
Goddamnit, and we just got contract phones today.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
