yeah, I think the front slot in an IR port window.
this is a great idea....I want a set.
I found my eSATA enclosure. OWC Mercury Elite-AL "Quad Interface" eSATA, FireWire 400/800+USB2 Combo Drive Enclosure for SATA Hard Drives $109.99. It's for 3.5" drives, so you can even buy a new, huge 500GB drive for cheap. I'm gonna take a slower 200GB SATA drive out of my G5 for the Tivo and get a faster, larger drive for the computer.

If anyone finds a cheaper/better solution, please post it

@ Michael

to be fair, he said an Apple tv was out of the question because it doesn't play all the formats. so if a modded Apple TV can't be suggested as a solution, a modded Xbox (that so many others have suggested) shouldn't be considered either.

I am also interested in the best solution for this issue. A generally mod-less one would be ideal...such as networking to my Series3 tivo to use it as a Media Center.
SO Awesome. I can't wait to get an eSata enclosure to add more HD storage!

This will be great for recording current full seasons of shows like Rome that I discovered late and haven't caught up to yet on DVD.

It's logical to consider that the bezel mentioned above is causing the cracks where it strikes the palmrest.

the interesting thing is that I carry my macbook is a very tight camera bag (where there is a lot of pressure on the case) to jobs , so I am a prime candidate for this sort of damage. There is no sign of any distress on my palmrest.

It may be worth mentioning that my palm rest was replaced with the newer "non-stain" version when I had my "RSS" repair done. Maybe this version is stronger?
"brightness, contrast and saturation is all wrong"

And that is because you were there and know exactly what the light was like? Please.

It looks like a pretty good picture for a camera phone, balanced for daylight, taken without a flash in natural cool light... regardless of what camera was used.
gotta love his computer tan.
what I don't get is how this is anything like a Segway? the brilliance of the Segway is that it is self balancing, works intuitively with your movements, and is kinda space efficient since it stands up and has a small footprint. This thing seems to offer little in the way of any innovation other that maybe being electric powered?
What's up with the crack about The Unit? It's a great show.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
