@fiver

Exactly. If the item is not strong enough to last my normal (and relatively gentle) use, I really dont want it.

And as far as phones go (with the crazy $700 off contract prices) you just get the insurance on them anyways. Then the phone conveniently breaks when the terms of the contract are near.
My 120 got stolen.

Which I take as proof that Zunes are desirable.
My girlfriend frequently reads 1-2 books a day, and that is with a normal working schedule and social life. She simply doesnt watch TV. When traveling, she can easily read 4-6 during transportation alone. Add in down time and the fact she is an insomniac, and 12 books is probably low. (Side note, she refuses to use an ebook reader for the sole reason that it wont have that "new book smell")

Likewise, I rarely read (1-2 books a month) but when I travel, especially on business, I will go through several books.

Oh, and when you fly... Packing a bag full of books makes for heavy (slow) travel through air ports, still limits you, and is done right insane (again, heavy travel, one more bag to worry about, etc). An ebook reader would be essential to anyone who reads a lot and flies frequently.
No problems here. No problems at all. Best phone I have ever used. (Yes, better than the iPhone. Sorta. Its on par I suppose, but its VZW, so the network is faster)
I caller failure at the first price hike and this just confirms it.

Mike, you just wont be able to sell a device that costs the same price as a netbook, but with half of the functionality. Keep in mind, we are talking half the functionality of a NETBOOK. If people want a cheap tablet that they can browse the web on and do little else, they will go for an iTouch or a ZuneHD. Or a used iTouch, and a netbook. And they still would have only spent the amount you are talking.

Thanks but no thanks.
Ouch! Mine has been great. The only crappy thing is the camera, but I dont really use it anyways.

Try going to a VZW store. My local ones have always been good to me when I get a new phone and it has problems. They will normally swap it out.
I almost bought one last night, since my Versa was acting up. However, they were able to get me back up and running, so Im holding off on the Droid (or another VZW Android phone) for another month or something.
Does it run Android? Ill buy it if I can call it an iDroid.
Ive got a Versa, and its actually a pretty good phone. The interface is better than the Dare and as a concept, the keyboard/other stuff is kinda cool.

Of course, I bought it refurbished and it didnt come with a keyboard, so I have never used one of the addons...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
