Hopefully some company steps up to the plate and makes a viable replacement (metal and small!) before mine bites the dust.

That said, I'll probably go and buy one or two more for the future. Question, will the battery degrade regardless of whether I use it or not?

The goggles are Smith I/O.
In the last couple of years I bought nothing but 7200.10 & 11 drives. I'm well aware all drives fail, but the number that are displaying the faults outlined above are far above normal.

I'm ready to call this Deathstar V2.0.
How's about a fricken' clip to hold the bloody cable in.

Regardless, Apple really screwed the pooch on this one.
It's a shame Apple can't afford testers.
Just another WTF from me. Shooting video is the last thing I want this for. Is this what they've been wasting the majority of the time on getting this out?

Whatever the case, I really look forward to seeing how well this thing shoots. I hope the quality negates my animosity towards these new 'features'.
This is nothing!

Apple is going to have replaceable batteries soon!

WOW!
Didn't the HF10 just come out?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
