meh; had exchange push on my Nokia for 2yrs - blackberry has had it since year dot.
Welcome to the 21st century guys, crack open a beer - and wipe that smug look off your face Apple are just catching up..
I'll download the firmware for my iPod Touch and evaluate it, not ready to jump ship from Orange quite yet; yes it a great looking phone and easy to use - but the apps are not ground breaking, take in point Google maps, been on Nokia before original iPhone was released and it has locate me...
I must admit me.com looks interesting, although if Google had push email I think I'd go with them.. still a lot of money for the yrly subscription.
Makes me laugh, I work with servers and just because they are "server grade" doesn't mean they won't fail.
If you put 500 GB or 1TB of your most important data on this there is still only 1 drive! should have at least two 500GB and give people the choice to RAID it or not..
I feel it's giving people a false sence of security!
This worries me... this hack uses a TIFF exploit in the browser, similar problems IE users experience on Windows; and a proven way "into the OS".
In the start there were no viruses for Windows, but as there was more and more interest in the OS, people started to "hack", tweak and customise the OS; simply through its popularity more and more people understood how to manipulate the environment, and useful hacks tools and customisation developed into other areas less useful and more damaging such as viruses.
The iPhone simply by its popularity is at start of this cycle; the smart people are pulling it apart and understanding how the code is written, testing and pushing to find weak points to find a way in to execute code to unlock the code;
I'm asking with the iPhone having such a high profile aren't these tools, experiences and knowledge found the building blocks for someone with a more personal objective to write a virus? With OS on the iPhone and the Mac so similar, the transfer should be a lot easier?
I can see similarities between Apple and Microsoft here, but it looks like I'm the only one to see it;
MS releases a patch for IE, and within days it's breached and another way in is found...
Apple releases a patch for Safari, and within days it's breached and another way in is found...
... I'll think I'll put a stake in the ground, and say; "This is where it all started..."
Hang on - why aren't there any apple fan boys saying that this is a rip-off of mac or OSX? because FrontRow and MCE are SO.. similar, they both have TV recording, scheduling "out of the box", program searches, freezing and rewinding live tv - like a Tivo or Sky+ that you can play games on.. oh right, I remember now FrontRow can't do any of that "out of the box" - jeez, I though the Mac was supposed to be the fun computer (best I don't mention the games as it's the holiday period)
By the way, I'm using XP, used MCE (it was great), had a MacMini (sold it), and buying a 24" Mac (to put XP on - ask me why if you want - but the poeple using XP know why)
I think the problem is this; In London we pay something called Council Tax which includes waste removal (amougst other things).. I think the concer is that a weighing/billing will be introduced so effectivly people will have to pay the council tax, and then pay again for the waste to be removed (even though its included in the tax)..
Bugger, ever the crooks are outsourcing to indian now..
** Serioulsy In the UK I would prefer chip 'n pin **AND** for them to take a signature. Currently shops don't even check the card any more, just slap it in the machine and type your pin.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
