Apple to open 40 to 50 new Apple Stores next year {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Nov 13th 2009 11:33AM Wish they would open another one here in the Oklahoma City area. The one we have now can get really crowded. Took me 20 minutes just to buy an iPod Shuffle a few months ago and that was at like 2 PM on a Thursday. I really think they should open a second store on the southside of the city. Sooner Fashion Mall in Norman would be a perfect location for one.
Xbox LIVE gets 1080p Zune Video store, Twitter, Facebook and more on November 17th (video) {Engadget}
Nov 12th 2009 4:55PM I have the preview version and I have to say this is a big bunch of nothing IMHO.
Being forced to use the slow Zune Video application really sucks when all you want to do is watch a game trailer you downloaded from the Game Marketplace.
The Twitter application is one of the worst Twitter clients I have seen.
The Facebook app only brings a limited set of Facebook functionality to your Xbox, about the only thing it is really good for is browsing photos on Facebook. If it supported Facebook apps/games it would be awesome.
Last.fm would be awesome if you could use it while doing other things (for instance playing games), but sadly it is another additional application that you have to launch to use.
Also even though they have a Music Game's store under the Music Marketplace the regular Game Add-On's channel in the Game Marketplace is still dominated by the music games.
I really wish they would work on streamlining their Dashboard interface some more and speed up how long it takes for the system to read content stored on the HD when generating the lists of said content.
WRUP: 'Too many games, not enough time' edition {Joystiq}
Nov 7th 2009 12:08AM Need more time and money. I am alternating between Forza 3 and Mass Effect (just a few achievements away from 100%). Unfortunately didn't have the money for both Borderlands and Forza 3 just like I don't have the money for both Dragon Age: Origins and Modern Warfare 2. Being poor sucks.
Woman creates massive Lego Zelda mosaic, takes longer to finish than most Zelda games {Joystiq}
Nov 6th 2009 12:29PM Someone at Traveller's Tales probably saw the title of this post and did a double take before running to their boss screaming about their idea for the next great franchise to do a Lego game with. And actually it could be pretty awesome if done right.
Apple pitching "all you can watch for $30 a month" TV to networks {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Nov 2nd 2009 5:35PM NetFlix Instant (via my Xbox 360) has pretty much replaced cable TV for me already. That plus my DVR means I rarely watch live TV. If I could get up-to-date episodes (similar to the way NetFlix is doing Heroes right now where the new episode is available the day after it airs) of my favorite shows via a service like this is rumored to be I would be willing to ditch my cable TV and replace it with a couple of Apple TV's.
Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow coming to DS in Spring 2010 {Joystiq}
Oct 29th 2009 6:01PM Sadly Akira Toriyama hasn't designed a character in like 20 years now. These are just chibi rehashes of Dragon Ball Z characters with a few palette and head swaps.
Elecom's simplistic multicard reader mounts nicely on walls, desks {Engadget}
Oct 28th 2009 1:09PM Nice and small but no CF slot.
Vuzix Wrap 310 video eyewear ships out to virtual big-screen lovers {Engadget}
Oct 25th 2009 4:29PM If someone would make some of these in 720p I would be very tempted to pick up a pair. Would be one hell of a way to experience Modern Warfare 2 ;)
ZFS project for Mac OS X discontinued {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 23rd 2009 5:47PM This really sucks. I have been looking forward to at least being able to read/write from/to ZFS arrays since before Leopard was released. I don't even care if it isn't bootable since I am mainly a laptop user. ZFS would solve so many issues I have with increasing storage and backup demands. Maybe we can get some OSS love to pick up the project where Apple left off or even support for ZFS via MacFUSE.
Snow Leopard Fixes: the angle-bracket "copy email" behavior {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 22nd 2009 6:14PM Losing the ability to disable auto-play in the Quicktime Plug-In is my number one annoyance (that Apple is responsible for) so far.
My number one annoyance is still no update to Windows Live Sync.
