Anyone else get the feeling that Apple would rather the world be a 1984 world? All their products are the same. All the software that apple makes have some sort of limits to it. Kinda ironic since they were the ones that had the most successful commerial in history with their hammer throw 1984 tv spot.

File this under "I'm freaked out, but totally worth it."

I took a photo last night and noticed the green bars. Didn't think anything of it though. Read this article and did a macro test, to confirm. Makes me wonder how and when it exactly happened.
Lame, Sony, Lame. One more thumbstick, the PSP would be a serious mobile machine.

And for those who will try to argue that they can't change it because all old games won't support it, can go wiki the PS1 because they probably arn't old enough to remember that Sony went from no thumbsticks to two in the middle of the PS1's prime time.
I can't belive that it doesn't have dual sticks! Very disapointing. I stopped buying new games 3 years ago because I kept buying games that would have played much better with a second stick. I felt like my money was being wasted because I never played those games. And I will not be buying this new PSP. Who cares if it slides open, and is 50% lighter. The only thing that cripples the psp is the lack of full controls. They've had pleanty of times to fix this problem, and its still not fixed. If they want to secure the top spot in handheld gaming, they need to smarten up. The games can be fantastic on the PSP if you had a way to control them.

And I just want to through in that I can't believe that people think that the iPhone is going to be a stong contender for handheld gaming. for really casual, simple games it is perfect for. But for serious games, NO WAY! again, you need a way to control them, and to be able to feel the controls so you can tell where you are.

Very disapointing Sony. Stick a second stick on there, and I'll be first in line to buy one. Until then, I refuse to buy any more psp games.
Remember when Internet access was only $14. Some times I wish I could just go back to dial up. I'm paying $65 for 1mbs from Comcast. Its not worth it. I could be using that $50 for something better.
one of the apartments I used to live in had free provided internet. They capped us at 250megs per day. It kept track of every hour. So if you downloaded 200 megs at 3pm. And then downloaded 51 megs at 8pm. You would be shut down, until 3pm came around the next day and reset it to 0.

So your limited was based on the previous 24 hours. But their was an internal website that let you see what you've used. This was like 6 years ago. So 250 megs was still painful, but not as much as it would be today. PLaying Battlefield 1942 online usually used all 250 megs in an hour.

And if you had a large file to download, you could technically cheat the system by starting it slightly before the hour. Because it only updated your downloads on the hour. So I was able to download a 2 gig file (Matrix Online Beta Test) in an hours time. When the next hour hit, then I was shut down for 24 hours.

That system really sucked. And there was nothing we could do about it. The complex had an exclusive contract, so we couldn't get any other service out there.
If this works without lag, it would be pretty cool. But I for one am done with unnecessary subscriptions. There are just WAY to many things that require subscriptions these days, and if you don't watch out those $10-$20 subscriptions can really add up.
No other football games can beat Joe Montana Sports Talk Football '94. That was the last football game I've cared about. I've picked up cheap used copies of Madden the past few years. And I think out of the 2 newer maddens, I've played them for a grand total of 1 hour. IDK, maybe its because they are TOO realistic, but I just can't enjoy them.

Dang. Now I want to break out my old Genesis.
Well, the players on the sideline haven't been improved. They're as lifeless as before. They're not even looking at the play.
This isn't exactly news. Anyone who knows Apple, would have guess that it was something that needed licensing. I'm sure Apple has a patent on it, which means if anyone wants to do the same thing, they need to pay for the right to use it. And this is why I was completly opposed to the new shuffle the instant I heard about it. Because its going to drive the cost of other headphones up. So I really hope that manufactures refuse to make these headphones. And heres why.

Not just because apple made a buttonless mp3 player, but because manufactures will now need to make headphones that support every device. Meaning, that all their products will have this, just incase someone wants to use these their headphones on the shuffle (or any future device). So if a year down the road, I need a replacement set of headphones for my computer, it could be hard to find a high quality set without the controls built in. Don't belive me? Look at all the current headphones. You'll see that they are now made to work with the first gen iPhone. I hate it. My nice set of studio headphones not look like they arn't plugged in all the way.

And manfactures don't want to miss an opportunity to sell a product just because it's not supported by one device, so they will make sure that all of their products work with as much as many products as possible.

Suck. The only think I hope for is that these companies say "Ok, thats enough Apple, you don't get my support for this product."
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
