Following the link to the reviews, it appears about $450 is the typical price.
What a colossal waste of resources. Why in the hell would anyone pay $350(ish) for a 1GB music player with a stupid gimmick like this.

Utterly pointless.

The only way I would ever be caught with one of these is if it was a gift, and I couldn't return it. I would be to embarrassed to list it on eBay.

Some of us don't have Comcast in our area. (I am a Charter customer).
I just ordered mine and just went with the standard shipping. I was told that they won't be shipping until (hopefully) Thursday, anyway.

Was anyone else told this (or that they would ship today)? I called earlier and was told that they were ready to ship today, so I am wondering if they were mistaken, or if I just missed out by waiting for 2 hours before I placed my order...
For those who got overnight shipping - what was the cost? They won't tell me until I am about to confirm the order.
Programmable from a cell phone?? That's news to me.
Personally, I will be first in line to pick one up at a price of $799. If they discount it somewhat, that is just more money to pay for the service fees down the road.

I currently own a first-gen (non-nightlight) Series 2, along with a Sony DHG-HDD250 HD-DVR. It is really one of the ONLY competitors to this TiVo product. I have had the Sony for about 10 months, and to be honest, I can see why it has already been discontinued. It also has a cablecard slot, but just one tuner. The guide is provided by Gemstar (TV Guide On Screen). The guide is frustratingly unreliable, as the PBS station in my area has a difficult time keeping their data broadcast equipment online.

When the guide on the Sony stops working, it becomes a glorified VCR that you can't set the time on manually! Don't get me wrong - when it works it works pretty well. When it locks up while you fast forward or rewind a program, it just irriates me.

I would love to have the reliable TiVo guide for an HD recorder

"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
