Now that they got the spectrum issue behind them (no thanks to the heel-dragging of the FCC) I expect T-mo to keep pace with the rest of the industry, and maybe use the ability of big daddy DT to leap ahead.
Free stuff? Where do I sign up? Oh, here? Then I must be signed up then... Cool
Why is everyone trying to get into an OS market that's already saturated? WindowsXP works great on my netbook, and I imagine the Linux-flavor does as well, both a a low price point. This "custom" OS of stripped down interfaces is a waste of time. It seems Intel is trying to make another stab at the internet appliance market, which fails to take off every time it's tried. Internet appliances (with the exception of WebTV) have never been successful. Why devote resources in a struggling economy to a known loser?
Schwag please!
My ideal changes in no particular order:

1) Improved keyboard (my old HTC S630 supported long press to access symbols... I want it here too)
2) More base memory (or allow SD card program storage with hacking)
3) On-screen keyboard
4) 3.5mm audio jack, duh!
5) Google Transit implementation into Maps. Transit has my my visit to NYC so much easier, but is clumsy without GPS and map integration.
6) Native support for multi-touch interface.
7) Faster camera start-up... 5 seconds is too long. And improve the app in general.
8) Stereo BT (or at least be able to send audio to my regular BT headset. I found a WinMo app that did this and it cut down on cable clutter when listening on the Metro. I know quality sucked, but it was free.)
9) Desktop Outlook support (e.g. ActiveSync)
10) Better battery life (at least a 25-50% improvement)

I really love this phone, and won't change until something drastically better comes along. The form factor is a bit peculiar, but the chin os fine by me.

My biggest "need" is battery life, especially when I'm traveling. The phone is my lifeline with maps and transit options, but the battery can't keep up.

And finally... Re-evaluate comment system on the Android Market. Murder flamers and trolls! They really make it hard to get a handle on what is and isn't worth a test drive.

And quit hating on T-mobile and T-Mo users. I've had plenty of options to change carriers, but NO ONE has taken better care of me than T-mobile. I sold for all of the other carriers, and have used every one. They've all got good and bad. Some of us just like T-Mobile. Deal with it!
I'll be buying one before year-end to make my bike commute lighter and still keep connected. The price is right, and the form factor is what a laptop should be.
That and T-Mo is still trying to buff out and test the new 3G-setup in all these new markets. They don't want to deal with all the complaints that AT&T has with the iPhoney 3G not working at 3G-speeds in lots of "covered" markets. Late to the show, but trying to do it right.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
