World's first iPhone 3G on sale in New Zealand a day before the US {Engadget}
Jun 25th 2008 2:46AM Actually, probably by the time you bought one and then got off the flight from in say LA from NZ... it'd be July 11th in the US anyways...
HTC exec claims Q109 for first Windows Mobile 7 phones? {Engadget}
Jun 16th 2008 8:32PM The fact of life is... there will be more phone's sold in the coming finanical year running Windows Mobile than iPhone's.
There were 5 times the number of WM based phone's sold last year, to iPhone's.
While there were just over 10 times the amount of Symbian based phone's sold to iPhones.
The other fact of the life; the iPhone is missing so many normal features that even a cheap Nokia, Samsung, or heaven forbid Motorola has had for years.
Only when Apple actually provide "normal features" with the iPhone can it be taking truly seriously in the world.
Of course, to use many people's definition of copying, this means Apple will be copying Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, HTC, Sony, etc etc etc. We couldn't have that could we?!

Jun 16th 2008 8:25PM It isn't Microsoft doing anything wrong... they only provide the OS to the hardware manufacturer... which means HTC is not providing worthwhile hardware - mainly processor speed.
HP says to expect multi-touch laptops "long before" Windows 7 {Engadget}
Jun 12th 2008 7:54AM @Derek - Microsoft cannot "start from fresh" with Windows 7. Thats an impossibility... because NONE of your games, applications, networking or ANY of your hardware would work with it!!
@buu700 - in a perfect world, what you have described would be great... but thats a completely new start - NO applications would be compatible with that OS. NOTHING would work with it at all.
NVIDIA shows off Tegra on video {Engadget}
Jun 3rd 2008 11:41PM nVidia have already demo'ed this chip in a mobile phone... which was running Windows CE. It worked a dream and its astoundingly better than anything on the market now!!!
3G iPhone to support 42Mbps Evolved HSPA data? {Engadget}
May 23rd 2008 4:41AM I wouldn't put too much stock in what a Telstra sales person says... they're not known for their truthful facts.
Laser pointers banned in New South Wales after rash of attacks on pilots {Engadget}
Apr 21st 2008 8:11PM @Pavan - because Technex actually has something worthwhile and constructive to say!! Not a silly comment like OnlyShawn said.
These green lasers are an extremely serious topic!! Would you want to shine a green laser at a 747 full of people??! only to have those pilots blinded and they crash that plane into the ground killing thousands?!?!?
Nokia readies iPhone-ish "Tube," disses Apple's sales {Engadget}
Apr 8th 2008 6:55AM @Caleb - "you keep using that word" ?? Its my only post in this entire thread. I suspect you have the wrong person. I also never mentioned haptic. And yes, the only thing you're right about... Tactic does not equal haptic -- and once again, I never mentioned, inferred or even suggested haptic at all.
The term "tactic" comes directly from Nokia's marketing for this product. Where, when you 'tap' the screen, you actually 'feel' a response to you touching the screen with your finger, instead of just feeling cold glass.
Please perform your research before having a mind fart.
Nokia readies iPhone-ish "Tube," disses Apple's sales {Engadget}
Apr 8th 2008 1:22AM This is impressive!! Tactic feedback, all existing S60 3rd edition app's work on it without modification (thats a LOT of apps!), it even has gestures (put the phone face down if you don't want to answer it etc) and much more... obviously with Nokia's ability to use current generation technology, there should be no end of buyers for this phone!! (i.e. 3.5G support, gig's of RAM with expansion abilities, user replaceable battery... you know all those easy simple every-day-life things that other phone forgot about!)
Windows 7 still slated for 2010 says Microsoft, Bill Gates just crazy-talking {Engadget}
Apr 7th 2008 10:19PM Doesn't anyone think anymore?? of course we'll see beta's next year! Remember tho, Windows 7 will be a natural progression on from Vista... Surely no one honestly thinks Microsoft will redo ALL of their code from scratch??!
