AT&T not happy with Verizon ads: 'There's a lawsuit for that' {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Nov 4th 2009 2:10AM Just more money wasted on the lawsuit that could be spent toward upgrading the network.
Who you gonna call? Irene's Spirit haunts your iPhone or iPod touch {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Nov 2nd 2009 7:24PM Thanks for clarifying. Like I said, I wasn't trying to accuse, just curious.

Nov 2nd 2009 7:18PM I have to ask - is TUAW paid for these posts? It seems that a lot of Apps are reviewed around here. You would expect that App reviews would be about the major apps out there, rather than relatively unknown apps from smaller publishers (that presumably need, and probably are willing to pay for, advertising) with small target audiences (how many TUAW readers really need, or care about, an illusion app?).
TUAW doesn't have anything saying that these reviews are or are not paid for. I'm not accusing TUAW (hey, gotta pay the writers somehow) but a little openness and honesty would be nice.

What? To get the hard drive you remove ten screws on the bottom (maybe less on the new polycarb MacBook), then two screws on the hard drive bracket. Disconnect the cable and pull it out. That's it. It may not be as easy for consumers, but techs and people generally familiar with hardware should be able to do it in less than 5 minutes.

If you're doing enough of that kind of work you should probably be investing in the Pro, most likely the 15". Sure, the MacBook will do it, but so would a netbook if you really had to. The point is you get what you pay for.
@Dan
Then if you need the extra file transfer speed, buy the Pro. It's only $200 more (less at some colleges, if you're a student), and if you need the speed that badly you probably could use the other features of the Pro (SD card, etc).
Face it, guys. You ARE the 5% of people I'm talking about. Most MacBook users don't have a single FireWire device, or wouldn't mind using a similar USB device. I could understand all the whining if there wasn't the 13" Pro, but there is, so I don't get it. An extra couple bills for Aluminum Body, backlit keyboard, SD slot, FireWire etc seems worth it to me if you're in that situation.

Oct 20th 2009 10:17PM Just get your lazy ass a screwdriver. You can have the drive out in 2 minutes. Then just hook it up to a USB-SATA converter (which any Genius Bar or repair center already has, and which any consumer can buy for $10 online if necessary), and plug it in. Sure, a little more work, but not really a big deal for any technician.

Oct 20th 2009 10:09PM If you NEED a Firewire port, you probably also NEED a MacBook Pro.
Is the lack of Firewire inconvenient? Yes. Is it actually going to affect more than 5% of Apple users? No.
Das Keyboard Ultimate S unleashed for the tactile experience-loving typist {Engadget}
Oct 5th 2009 10:03PM I had one of these, without blank keys, for awhile. It's a great keyboard with great feel. I felt it was definitely worth the $130 but if you don't want to pay the premium a regular keyboard works too.
The only reason I don't have it anymore is because of the way they implemented the USB controller. Something wasn't quite right and my computer (and many other users' computers) wouldn't recognize the keyboard on like 80% of boots, so I had to return it.

Sep 8th 2009 7:26PM Scratch that, no MP3s on Amazon. Although you could still buy the CD there and rip them but I guess people are just lazy.
