Um, can I ask why you would not post "pictures" from the camera, since that is what the damn thing is for in the first place...
whatever, all those examples are "novelty" examples. No one will use this as a real tool for video, sorry. You all can think what you want, but it's the wrong tool for the job. The dSLR video function offers nothing new or any creative "advantage" over a purpose built HD camera. I would also argue that anyone who is looking to "show the world in a new light" will be looking at more advanced tech like 4K cameras from Red not some $1200 SLR with a video setting. The fact that you are all saying "gee if it offered constant focus, I'd be all over it..." tells me that it is not a serious video tool.

You can argue your points but Michael is right, it's pointless because you are wrong, and Solid Gray Fox, give me a break, I am as bleeding edge as anyone on this blog, I just use the right tool for the job. I am a still photographer, so I use my dSLR to take pictures not my Sony hd camcorder, thats used for video, because it the right tool for that job.

Now leave me alone Milton Berle is on the two way tonight.
@michael

please, don't be a douche. What photographer is going to buy a dSLR BECAUSE it has video, and what videographer is going to buy a dSLR instead of a video cam. But you go ahead and use your VdSLR (doubtful you have one) to make your summer blockbuster there Scorsese.

By the way do you use a knife to open a can of chili? You probably hunted high and low, searched the can opener forums for months to find a knife that had a can opener attachment.
ummm, this is a STILL camera right? What kind of moron would by an SLR for video use...
oh touche' Loonie, touche'
Hey thanks man for setting me straight. I mean I should have know that atomicthumbs was some kind of 'insider" that had all the info. And boy he is sure doing a good job correcting people's "mistakes" opinions. But what do I know I am just your average gadget guy, clearly this guy and you for that matter are way cooler than me...
sometimes you just want a phone to be a phone.
Don't you worry, atomicthumbs will let you know how misguided your opinion is in 3....2.....1
They should ask Apple Corps how that worked out for them...
@atomicthumbs

Boy you have all the answers don't you?

Answer this one, why come you're sucha tool?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
