I second that for New Zealand, we pay about $600US more for a 15" MBP with the 9600GT compared to the US with sales tax ($2749US).
I noticed that as well. At least they are finding ways to make money that give a bit of a laugh. Maybe in the future they could pay for shows with the product placement, and not have the bloody ad breaks?
*saw it on the show
When I saw it I the show, I just thought "PRODUCT PLACEMENT".

It interrupted the story a lot more than a text, which really just goes to show it would be better to use a damn cellphone.
What if a car manufacturer offered a firmware update that would make your engine as powerful as the next years model for 1/30th of the price of buying a new one, would you be complaining?
Intel should counter-sue for 1.2b in advertising, as no one knew that the Psion Netbook existed until Intel got sued.
Knock a few hundred off the price, and give it a second (and maybe even third) USB port, and I'd be on my way to the apple store.
That is actually the most sensible thing I have heard on engadget, ever
How the hell could anyone stand 1360x768 on a 22" monitor, 1680x1050 is marginal enough
There is a 24" 16:9 Dell monitor also, the S2409W. And if you want a 16:10 24" screen, there are already heaps available.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
