Actually the U.S isn't really much larger than Brazil:
US: 3,794,066 sq mi
Brazil: 3,287,597 sq mi

Though the population of the US is larger there are almost 190 million people in Brazil
G5's are 64 bit (I dual boot a completely 64 bit Gentoo on my G5). There have been 64 bit IBM PPC's for very long time. If 64 bits capability is the only requirement, all G5's are set.
Bryan, you could look at it another way, military spending is about %50 of US discretionary spending not including "black" military funds of which we know nothing. Also the US spending on the military is more than the rest of the world combined. A trillion $ a year could be spent a whole lot better IMO.
Willen,

Not quite right on the CD. The CD was Philips/Sony. Philips had optical media (video/audio) before the CD (laserdisc) on which research started in 1975 and which went to market in 1978. This was 5 years before Philips/Sony CD market intro in 1983.
AT&T happy said "AT&T didn't spy they just let the NSA do its job."

Wrong. What AT&T did was illegal, if the NSA participated it broke the law as well. The law is very clear on this, you MUST have a warrant and fishing expeditions are illegal. AT&T stands to lose billions on this. If you follow this in the US congress, you will see that the administration is trying to get AT&T retroactive immunity from prosecution for these crimes in the revised FISA act. Part of the reason they are trying to get AT&T immunity is because they fear we will find out who gave the illegal order. Whether or not they will get immunity is still an open question.
Nice job cutting through the misinformation and getting down to the facts Xee. Ignorance on Venezuela and repetition of US administration propaganda on engadget is truly stunning.

oolvidaremos you ought to try comparing apples to apples instead of apples to oranges. How about comparing Venezuela to the few remaining South American neo-liberal states like Columbia, Guatemala, etc? Columbia is especially horrible considering the billions the US administration dumps into their military. Have you heard about the connections between the right wing death squads and top political allies of Uribe? The prosecution of top legislators? The payments by Chiquita to the death squads? Wake up!
Primetime4 I find the DS browser WAY more useful than the PSP browser since the PSP doesn't have a touchscreen keyboard, entering characters is brutal.
I'm STILL waiting for the DS Opera browser to be released in the US. Anyone hear anything about that??
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
