Mac Specialists joke that the store is called "Gapple". I remember being told during training that Apple looked to clothing retailers when trying to figure out what a positive customer service experience was all about when they were designing the first stores. Another interesting tidbit: at the store where I used to work, several (and I'm not talking one or two) of our employees used to work at Gap, J. Crew, and other similar stores, especially the managers (at one point more than half of those).
You got me, there is that. I still think two ports is a little excessive, but if you're gonna have the one, might as well have the other I guess.
Couldn't they cut down on the size a little bit by leaving off some of the legacy ports? I know that as a Mac user, I live in a legacy-free world not necessarily enjoyed by my fellow PC-users, and I can accept the refusal of PC makers to give up those PS/2 ports, but c'mon people, two COM ports? COM ports?! I humbly contend that a person willing to shell out the dough for one of these bad boys knows exactly what they want it for, and exactly how to use it. That sort of person isn't sitting around still using a serial mouse and null-modem. Maybe if you have an older automotive diagnostic system, but even those are available for pretty cheap in USB flavors nowadays...
Also, Nokia has taken a long, long time to release a 3G phone here in the US, and even then it (the N75) is only UMTS, not HSDPA, so maybe there's a reason Apple also passed on 3G. Cost, difficulty of integration, who knows. And remember there's lots of features that haven't been revealed yet. GPS could very well be built in.
I'm going to agree with hawkeye: I just got a N75, because I refused to settle for anything that didn't have 3G (since I live in Boston and we have 3G here), and shortly after I got it three weeks ago, I went to an area that *didn't* have 3G, and noticed that the speed was way, way faster than it used to be on my Treo650. I assumed it was just that Nokia's browser is better than that of the Treo (which is true), but I notice almost no difference between browsing speed when I do and don't have 3G service. Now I guess I know the actual reason for it.

Hmm, maybe I should have sprung for the Edge-only E62...
I think it's sort of amusing that Walt Mossberg asked Steve Jobs if the iPhone was on track for late June, and Steve said "yes". Then Walt asked him if that meant June 30th, and Steve chuckled and said "no". Well, I guess it wasn't a lie...
I would get it just because it would mean that it would be one plant I could have in my house that would take care of itself (and hence not die in a week). But then again, given the amount of gadgets I have, that's probably not even true either.
I totally dig the line "Cleanse the world of Windows users by battling them online!" Roger that.
Right, "blood money", Nazi gold... World Health Organization, World Trade Organization, International AIDS Society, the International Red Cross/Crescent, World Heart Federation, UN Commission for Refugees, the list goes on. And that's just Geneva. But you're right, nothing good comes out of that country full of "Army knife r-tards".

Thank you for posting an intelligent response to this article. And god forbid a country should pass a law that promotes safety on the roads. But you're right. If it really *was* a free country, you'd be allowed to kill yourself and those around you any way you want. Not that it matters, since I feel fairly safe in assuming that you have never been to Switzerland, and probably never will.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
