If they can put a better OS than Win 7 Starter...then SOLD for me! I have been waiting for a great touchscreen netbook for awhile and I am looking forward to seeing this at CES in two weeks!
Evidently $20 million in penalties was not enough for a large company like Verizon. The feds are going to get involved with this one, there are already a couple of congressmen and a senator who have signed on. This will not last! If this is the way Verizon has to subsidize their products, they need to change their business and marketing model. The penalty is much to punitive for the consumer and they will pay dearly for this one.
This product is a piece of crap if you have a Verizon or Sprint USB760 modem which is what the cellcos tried to jam down everyone's throat when they first came out. Funny, those modems still do not work on this wireless router. What is wrong Netgear? Technicians can't get your 3G wireless router to work with a 3G modem. Not everyone has a USB727 or an older USB720 modem. Get with the program Netgear!
And plenty expensive for you too! Try twice the price for AT&T's 3G technology compared to WiMax and don't forget you get to use your AT&T 3G card for $12 per GB for the first 5GB then it goes to $250 per GB after that. WiMax has NO limitations on how much data you download...it's unlimited!

Is that still fast enough for you Sparky?
I definitely want one of these and I found a place to get it and an opportunity to save a great deal of money...

I just found something incredible! If any of you live in an area where there is the new Clear 4G WiMax Internet service, purchase your Clear Pick2 from this company and you will receive your new PS3 120GB Slim for only $99 plus $15 shipping. Their web site is http://www.clearnevada.com

I know ten of my friends who have done business with these people and they all have great things to say about them.

I just ordered mine from them...what a great deal!!!
Ifred...

He meant the bandwidth caps that Verizon uses to limit your usage. Currently, if you pay $60 per month for a cap of 5GB of usage, you are paying $12 per GB. Once you exceed that, if the price goes up to 25 cents per MB for your overrages, you are paying a whopping $250 GB for anything over 5GB of usage in a month. People are receiving monthly bills with Verizon and AT&T of thousands of dollars in overrage charges.

If Verizon or AT&T employ bandwidth caps as they are doing with their 3G technologies, they will be committing suicide with the technology because Clear does not charge overrage charges with their very affordable unlimited plans. Also, Clear's 4G WiMax technology is quite amazing!
Because all you had was Clear's Expedience 3G technology. Wait until you get the 4G WiMax...let me hear what you will say then! I am using it now and you are in for one big surprise!!! It totally rocks!!!
Dell...it's time for drug tests in Round Rock...looks like your designers need to lay off of the acid.
As long as Sony continues to think they are smarter than everyone else in the computer industry and continues to make the "Sony Version" of the operating system and will void your warranty if you change or alter it...then charge you two to three times for the privilege of using it, then Sony will continue to prove they should not be making computers. Sony is basically to computers as Verizon is to handsets!
Engadget is right, it is not worth it! Neither are the Verizon or AT&T deals. Even if Verizon or AT&T or Sprint gave you a $100 gift card with this deal and did not charge you anything, it would not be worth it. When most people purchase a computer, they want their specifications on the computer. This is a ridiculous deal because most netbook purchasers are purchasing their small, uncomfortable netbook as a secondary computer or as a computer for their school aged kids. I would have to agree, the deal is much better to purchase a Sprint USB card or MiFi device and then you can use it on any other computer. This deal limits the usage of the modem to only that computer.

Not a good deal.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
