Does no-one remember the Palm Pre hype?

Sure we'd all like to see real competition for Steve's phone but we're again getting sucked into the hype

The real success is the effectiveness of the advertisements.

The reason that this is a story is because David Hockney is a well established, artist and is an considered influential artist. It's like the story about the queen of england playing Wii. It's a story not because she rocks at fake bowling, it's because she's the freaken queen of england.

This is one of those times were you don't know if your boss is having fun or really Pissed Off and using humor to cover it up. I've been in those meetings were your not quite sure if you should laugh or not, the result of which, every-time, is discomfort.

I'm sure that employee had a talk with his manager shortly after.
They want to sell you the digital copies for $5-$10. You'll see all the PS2 title on the store once the PS2 hardware is no-loger supported

It's a new revenue stream with virtually no overhead. Plus you can't resell digital copies.
kudos on the use of bodhisattva

Reminds me of the faux commercials on scifi movies like Robocop, Blade Runner, and Starship Troopers. Has anyone checked for subliminal messages?
I must be replying on a Zombie... or maybe I am (running Norton now)

Unless they can fit 8 cores, 1Tb of storage, 12 gig of Ram onto a phone or laptop, I'll still be on my desktop. There are production people that will always need to sacrifice mobility for more power.

"Am I the only one that thinks this will be a huge flop?" -Yes

This is the ultimate grandparent pleaser. People use their cameras as a portable slideshow keeping images permanently on the camera to view and show off. Every-time we visit the grandparents, they want to see the latest album of kid pics and viewing it on a 3 inch screen doesn't cut it on aged eyes. I'm thinking of getting one even though I'm deep in the Canon camp.
should have taken the opportunity to dicktop as well

Everything from the cloths you wear and the computer your probably using to post is made or has components made in china. This is not about a countries work ethic. And if you didn't know people kill themselves because of their jobs all over the world. This is gets the press hear because it has a connection to apple. Hope he left a damming letter about what happened to him after losing the prototype.
In test, the seats do a pretty good job against rear impacts, but the majority of severe injury occurs during head-on crashes (higher speeds and neck-trama). That is why they(EU and US Gov) are considering that all child seats face back until the age of 4. This would be difficult because the lack of room between the front and back seats.

I think this is a good idea. Hopefully the data shows that it really does save lives and moves the technology forward until we have that emergency foam like in Demo Man. In the mean time I'll keep my 10 month old in the middle seat of my 9-year-old 4-banger Protege.

"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
