This price tag is much too high. When a product (books for kindle) depends so much on network externalities it seems ridiculous to charge so much for usage hardware. I'll be waiting to pick up a used on on eBay for $100, or for the price to drop to $150 or so.
So, after reading the full article, one glaring problem seems to have been ignored: interference.

If you're communicating wirelessly between the "brain" of the phone and the antenna, doesn't that open the door for external electronic interference to affect the quality of the call?

And in reverse, the tin-foil-hat type people are going to have a lot more "evidence" for the whole cell-phone-cancer myth as they could claim the microtransmitter interferes with your brain.
Yeah, I'm thinking you will get more battery life *while talking* but that's it. If you're google mapping, or emailing, or mp3ing, etc, the thing's going to drain just like normal.
Well they're putting 3 HD channels in a multiplex, so that means each channel only gets ~ 12-14 Mbps bitrate, and they need 20.

That's not what causes Macroblocking though. That is caused by mpeg packet loss, which is caused by many factors but most often it's crappy networking on the IP distribution side. I'm not sure if their Charleston office has gone to IP yet though so I can't tell you for certain.
So, it's OK to demonize the Nazis because they were German Socialists but it's not OK to demonize the Japanese because they had the same skin as the author?

Ah, it all makes sense now.

How about this: the game is trying to be historically accurate. How about that.

I'm sorry the Japanese Americans were sent to camps, I really am. You can thank your Democratic leadership for that one. They've been breaking people down in the hyphenated American groups since the 30's.

That doesn't change anything about what happened in the Pacific Theater though, not at all. I haven't seen the game yet but the truth of what actually transpired at the hands of the Japanese is brutal, deal with it.
Man I bet PT Barnum loves all of these Green products, lol
I've got a 37" with the ambient light and I love it. Not sure if it'll be a "requirement" on the next TV I get, but if the price is right I'll go with ambilight every time.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
