Microwave ray gun promises to put sounds in people's heads {Engadget}
Jul 8th 2008 6:36PM the system does not rely on your skulls size, but it does use your skull as a median to produce the sound. the fine tuning they are talking about is getting the frequencies created in the brain via tissue to be the correct frequencies that we hear. Just like the current technology that uses your cartilage to reproduce sound that you can feel, it does not rely on your body's mass.

Jul 8th 2008 6:29PM no but image walking down the street with your ipod, listening to music, and then all of a sudden you start hearing commercials in your brain. you cant do anything but listen to them. it's invasion of personal privacy.
unless, of course, you could use this tech to beam music into your brain.

Jul 6th 2008 12:01AM when i can take an e-book to the beach and spill orange juice over it without having it die or fail then it just mite..... JUST MAYBE could possibly improbably replace my extensive book collection. i still doubt it, i like the book art and having a library with physical media stored in it. (and the fresh smell =)
what i foresee, is when colored e-books are made, they will replace school text books. and when touchscreens are added, will replace note books, because notebooks are messy but are faster at writing and more portable then computers.
