Glee = Election + Fame

and that's why I watch.
I can't reply to Zilch's comment for some reason, but he exactly reverses the Keeler/history choice that D mentions. I'm just sayin'.

At the risk of generalizing, I've always felt that "Edge of Forever" is the consensus choice for best Trek episode among SF fans who watched Trek but never considered it "real SF." "Forever" had Harlan Ellison, therefore it's the best episode. If it had been written by Jean Lisette Aroeste or Steven Carabatsos, it would be remembered as just another raid on the Paramount costume shop.

For me the best episodes will always be "Balance of Terror" (Paul Schneider) and "Is There In Truth No Beauty?" (Aroeste). Both of them pure TV and pure Trek.
I thought "Enterprise" was a fine attempt to make a modern TREK using story arcs and other contemporary methods. There is so much fan politics surrounding STAR TREK and "Enterprise" couldn't seem to catch a break with the base. Personally I enjoyed the acting and the plots.

But I always felt that the show was hurt by 9/11 (as of course we all were). It premiered a couple of weeks after the attack, with America changing right in front of our eyes. Stuff that was supposed to be fun didn't seem fun; stuff that was supposed to be serious didn't seem serious. By itself that would have corrected over time - but they decided to deliberately invoke or respond to the horror of attack in Season 3 with the Xindi attack. It was cathartic to see Archer clench his jaw and head out there to kick some alien ass. But when the catharsis was spent, I felt the show was done. A shame really, there was a lot of potential.

I'd like to see a show set between Enterprise and TOS in time, like the Abrams movie.
Hmm, I wonder what happens if you hit Cartoonizer while you're already watching Cartoon Network? Do you suddenly see Neil Patrick Harris and Evangeline Lilly? :)
My little pony! That's just gosh darn unfair. What a great series.
My ten word review of Swingtown:

Molly Parker, Molly Parker, Molly Parker, Molly Parker, Molly Parker!

Let's hope CBS uses her again soon. Dare I suggest a pairing with their contract player Alex O'Loughlin from Moonlight?
My copy of the DVD was definitely a commercial pressing, but I have heard the DVD-R rumor elsewhere, so I suspect that they may have done a "desperation run" of -R's to make sure there was something to ship on release day and before the holiday deadline.

If anyone has a DVD-R and they can't play it, I'm sure you could return it to Amazon etc, and replace it with a pressed disc.

PS Dr. Horrible did not rip off Dr. Steel. Professor Normal, however, is GOING DOWN!
Joss doesn't name shows after a character any more?

"Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog"
The thing about the 8GB Cruzer is you can load it with a dual layer DVD ISO and visit your friends. :)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"My father-in-law is heading back to school in the spring and wants a laptop for Christmas. The only catch is their budget is around $400 and he does not want a netbook. He's not very "tech savvy" at all and doesn't need a hoss of a machine (not that $400 could get you one). We would like to get it for him as soon as possible and would love some input."
