engadget really is bias towards anything that competes with apple and google, i mean look at their blogs it's right there on front of your face it's hideous! Nokia will do fine coming out with competitive phones and keep their Nr 1 spot in the smart phone segment. Although I do agree that Nokia has fallen asleep for a couple years at the wheel, they are waking up slowly and we will all benefit as consumers because they do bring some of the best gadgets to the market. I love the netbook they brought out, it really is the best featured netbook money can buy right now no doubt. Once they fix their User Interface on their smart phones within the next couple quarters you will see them flourish because they always deliver the most complete products out there, they are just not as user friendly as apple's products no question but they are getting it and it's getting exciting I can already see competitors sweat because no one can really compete with Nokia in making phones.

Right now we are watching the awakening of the sleeping bear in the smart phone industry, watch out!
i've got for you a pre-pre-iphone3g-g1-killer.. its called a 2006 Nokia E90 or wait i've got for you a future pre-iphone4g-g1-killer... its called a Nokia N97.. =D
This Pre is quite a whole lot of new-ness! Very refreshing to see a company looking for a new lifeline and risking their future on this device! I do think it's going to be successful, might not be as successful as the iphone not because it's not better than the iphone (because it is) but because Palm doesn't have the cash nor the know-how how to market this product like Apple does.

I am a Nokia E71 user and very satisfied with it, actually I might even go as far and say that to this date there is no other phone that can beat it in size and usability. Not the iphone, htc hd, g1.. none of them can bring together the size and features that the E71 brings harmonically and well designed together. Enough said about the E71 since I do believe that its going to be beaten soon, might even be by the Pre since its very close in size and similar features or maybe even by Nokia itself with the E81 or something. Though, with Nokia's constant innovation (every month they release a phone that challenges the Pre or any other cometitor, f.e.: N78, N81, N96, Tube and soon N97!!!) and the current consumer crises it'll be hard to beat Nokia because the cover the market from A-Z in every segment and they have unchallenged services like Nokia Maps, Ovi, free push email. Apple has only one phone, there is only one G1, htc is winmo enough said and Palm only has the Pre the rest is just junk, so where does that leave us.. right, Nokia!

I'd like to see some competion here for Nokia, real competition not these single phones that come out and are locked to one carrier, they are shooting themselves in the foot!

At the end of the day, the Pre might sell enough to let Palm keep its doors open for a bit longer and i might even get one just to play with it cuz it does excite me but i also will get an N97, which phone will end up conquering my pocket will come down to which phone offers more.. and looking at the specs the Pre doest even come close but we'll see.
This thing is sooo f*** UGLY.. who are they trying to compete with? Sure not against BMW, AUDI nor MB! Well if not them then who? Honda, Toyota? Well, why would a Honda or Toyota buyer ever consider this 'thing'? I mean its ugly, it's not fuel efficient and not reliable.. what are those stupid GM maniacs doing with our tax money?!! Don't they see that they can't compete in an open market? They lose more money than then make, but seeing this 'thing' it's a no brainer, they can't find enough stupid people to sell this garbage to.
i doubt they will sell more than 100 world wide. The Cayenne is beautiful, the only SUV's that can top it are the Range Rover's, and maybe the ML AMG's too. But this thing is just awful beyond imagination, i think they've totally screwed the research on this things market segment cuz I'm pretty sure the people answered yes to a four door Porsche but not thinking it'd be this ugly. I still think Porsche has a 4 door market, but you'd have to completely redesign this 'thing'.
I think what you need is the as close to perfect as you can get with whats available in the market right now: the Nokia E71
This is the most beautiful car I have ever seen! A true Supercar! WooooW!!! To me it looks like a mixture of the new Maserati GT and the Enzo! Whatever inspired them to design this, this got to be the most beautiful design since the Ferrari Testarossa! I think Toyota should buy this company outright and make this car their new Supra! With their quality engineering and this design, they may pull off perhaps the best supercar to date!
What an ugly car!! I would not buy that car even if the whole world economy would depend on it! Hell, I would even complain if I'd get that as a rental!
Tell why should we give these morons in Detroit money to build such crap?!
now slap that on the upcoming N97 with a better UI and we have a monster!!!
I can't believe how ugly this car is!! Look at the back! Whaaaack!!

FORD, you suck at building cars!!!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
