I bought myself and the family a Mitsu HD1000U projector and a Oppo upconverting DVD player. Mounted it to the ceiling for a 84" picture and.. Man, life is good. Far better than the old 31" CRT. Finally.
Oh, and the kid got a Wii from his grandparents.
This just might be what I have been looking for. Should be plenty fast enough to edit compressed HD video. Now how to find out what brand of drives they use? I will never trust another WD drive.

A game of some kind to play on it... some kind of mindless FPS cuz I don't like to have to think to much when I'm trying to veg.

She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
