@icase81 BES adds push for non-corporate email accounts.
@harabai I agree. BIS is important because it gives push capability to non-corporate email accounts (yahoo, google, etc.), but that should be it. I HATE how the BB browser has to go through RIM's servers, unless you manually change it to wi-fi browser which actually does direct TCP/IP. The problem with changing to wi-fi browser is you lose connectivity when you leave wi-fi coverage, and you have to switch it back. SO ANNOYING!
@TikiTeko Thanks for pointing it out. I totally missed it. :)
All email is out as well as data. I just took my SIM out of my 9700 and into my iPhone, normally a step backward as far as I'm concerned, but when RIM goes down it turns the berry into a dumbphone.

Why doesn't RIM provide updates or explanations during and after these outages? It's a joke!
I think it was down here in Utah. My phone dropped to GSM (no GPRS or EDGE) and I received no calls or messages. It could be that it was just a quiet night, but who knows.

Between T-Mobile and RIM outages, we T-Mobile Blackberry users are really taking it in the shorts today.
I have been enjoying my new 9700, but due to the outage I had to lovingly slide my SIM card into my iPhone this morning. The iPhone seemed to like that.
Hurry, patent this idea: Dual mode lights, LED above freezing, incandescent below freezing controlled by self-contained thermostat. No retrofitting of the traffic light infrastructure required!

I wonder how many accidents LEDs have reduced due to reduced downtime from longer lifespan vs. incandescent.
@n2whyteguyz The ultimate carbon footprint neutralization method: kill people.:(
@(Unverified) What a ridiculous statement! It's fast and mobile.
@COCOViper I would love a glimpse into Sprint's 4G rollout plans as well as a roadmap for 4G devices, like the rumored Wimax Mifi.

I'm on their Unlimited data plan, out of contract for 6 months now, and would like to get a Mi-fi. I just don't want to re-up for 2 years on a 3G device without knowing what 4G options I'll have in this market in the next few months.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
