Oct 22nd 2009 11:35AM I'm perfectly happy with the two LG 47LH90 LED-backlit LCD TVs that I got on sale at Sears for $1260 each. My other choice was the Panasonic 50V10 which sucks up at least 400 watts at max vs 250 for the LG. The LG weighs 60 lbs with the base. Plasma TVs are also great if you need a year-round room heater.
BlackBerry Storm 2 appears on Verizon pages {Engadget}
Oct 20th 2009 11:53AM Verizon and Apple both suck. Why do we have to pay so much for a mandatory data plan if we just want to look cool with the Storm or iPhone?
California Cool Cars regs put the kibosh on radio, cellphone, and GPS reception {Engadget}
Oct 13th 2009 10:47AM The California car market is so big that this stupidity means that all cars sold in the US will have this by 2016. Everything tthat CARB has mandated is now on all US vehicles.
Not only inside GPS units but also radar detectors, E-Z Pass, I-Pass, Sun Pass, etc., etc., etc.
And guess who is going to pay for this technology.

One of these comes in handy when you can't remember where your car was parked in a sea of cars at Wally World, Disney World, etc. I had a silver rent-a-car. You know how many silver Camry's were there that day? There even was an identical 2008 silver Camry parked next to mine when we left at 5PM.
It even came in handy when we were in Italy and Swtizerland in March. Try finding your way back to the bridge at the train station in Venice from the south side without one of these. You make a wrong turn in Venice or step off the curb and you are swimming with the fishes.
I have the Bushnell version of this thing. It uses 2 AAA batteries and cost ~$60 from Adorama. It has the digital compass plus 3 favorite locations. It has a 999 mile range from your set points.
