A great backup solution for those with a TB RAID would be for Sony to make a 400 Disc BD-RW changer with double-sided capability. Imagine 400 discs each holding 100 GB of data = 40 TB of backup space. No excuse for not backing up every day.

I realize that the cost for 400 discs is alot now, but you could start small, maybe 10-20 to backup the 1-2 TB RAID. Then you have tons of room for expansion, complete data portability, corruption protection, and low power consumption all while having 100% availability.

This would be great for those with the new TiVo S3, too. You could go on vacation for a year or two and still catch all your shows. :)
The biggest benefit I am looking forward to is to allow your real nieghborhood to become a "network neighborhood" with no ISP's involved.
Use this with a propeller hat to recharge the battery.
After reading my theory again, I forgot to mention something. I know the commercial skipping is a big reason for time savings, but I assumed savings before that. Here's why. I generally save more time because I don't have to wait an hour waiting for my show that I do from skipping commercials. I use to still sit and flip through channels but with my TiVo I can watch something from yesterday while I wait. I still watch the same amount of TV per day and my theory is that most other people do, too.
@Martin

I'm not sure the study proves your point at all. The study compares DVR'd homes to non-DVR'd homes. It does NOT compare DVR'd to pre-DVR'd. There is a big difference and there is more to consider besides just having or not having.

Everyone has a fixed amount of time that they devote to TV watching. I think that the same people who buy a DVR are the SAME people who watched 23 percent less TV to begin with. If you have less time for liesure activities to begin with, buying a DVR mean you can watch all of your shows instead of just 77 percent of them. Add to that the commercial skipping, and a person crunched for time can now keep up with the news that they've been missing.

Just a theory. I'd be interested in hearing what you think.
thanks for the spoiler, marty

"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
