It takes a lot of development to make an antenna and a control system for internet that is flight worthy (aka won't explode in flight and take the plane down w/ it)..
so it takes a lot of time getting it qualified by the FAA. this isnt cheap.
not only that, but the extra wiring involved and the installation..
