... and STILL no white iPhones in UK for loyal up-graders. What rubbish O2 have been, and still are
just punched one in and it worked! it even corrected an extra space with a did you mean...

Try some more - I just literally punched in the code, nothing else
Glad to say it seems to work well in the UK too - I had assumed it would, for now be a US functionality, like traffic seems to be.

But here in London, at least, it works and location seems pretty accurate to me - the middle of my street, where I live!
works for me, but they sound a bit crap and tinny, even with equalizer manips and volume manips in iTunes before conversion.

Thanks though to relevant developers!

thanks for the info - I did read all that stuff, but no one seems to be able to tell me whether as a CPW/O2 person and not a straight O2 person, whether it applies to me.

I will, again, go calling around to get clarification. Perhaps there will be more of a focus on accuracy as time nears - here's hoping!
MJ,
thanks for this: I have been on the Apple discussion boards all afternoon and am getting seriously conflicting advice.
On the one hand there is, if you are already whit O2 or O2/CPW then you just start a new contract, forget the old one
and
Then there's your advice

EEK
Ok, one stupid question, an answer for which i have not been able to get anywhere - what happens when you activate on iTunes, and you have had, up to that point a contract already running with O2 or O2CPW - does it just disappear?
That's what they invented time machine for!
England? I think you mean England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
