A bit ofbackground info..
At the time this commercial was released (I can't remember exactly when but it was quite a few years ago, and the cars are AU Ford Falcons which were replaced by the BA in 2002 so at least 7 years) the general speed limit in urban areas was 60km/hr, that's the reason they use that speed as a starting point.

But I completely agree with your general point. Since then the speed limit for non-main roads has been dropped to 50km/hr and it will only bea matter of time before some people will say "but isn't 40km/hr safer?".

My argument against this was was your last point: if a driver doing 60 is paying more attention to what is happening around and up ahead then they would've been on the brakes a lot earlier and would've stopped before any "soccer mum" doing 55 and only watching the car immediately infront

Yeh ts not new, Ford Falcons in Australia have it. I quite like it, just a tap and forget it. If you want it on longer than 3 blinks then click in like normal, not hard

Thats exactly what I was thinking, they got it arse-about.

We have a guy at work who gives the impression that most bike riders are tools with little regard for other road users and road rules (eg "Why are the cops picking on me? Whats wrong with giving it a blast up to 200km/hr from [intersection A] to [intersection B]?" "Because theres a school there you idiot" "Well the kids should be in class at 9:20"). This video reinforces that impression

They sure do. Well they dont say "oh what a feeling" anymore, but they still have the person jumping in the air and most people still remember the old slogan to go with the jump

Personally I would've like a few more jumps from rally cars :)

I'm not the biggest bikes fan but I make sure I see the TT, man those guys have some balls.
