oh dear god, please, me. i've never won anything in my life.
I'm guessing HTC knows their markets, consumer preferences and OS loyalties better than you do, so STFU about Android. They already said they'd be making one in the near future, FFS.
was thinking about getting this over the HD2 after seeing that Zune-esque music UI yesterday and remembering the rumored 16/32GB internal storage capacity. Well, now that that just turned out to be a cruel rumor, I'll go with the HD2 and avoid SE's price gouging. HTC's price probably won't be any better, but at least the screen's a bit bigger and HTC's build quality is unparalleled.
I was interested in this in July, and I'll admit that the inclusion of an SD (rather than microSD) slot is still appealing. But since July/August, we've had:

-Nokia 5530XM
-SE X3/X10
-Samsung Behold II
-Moto Cliq/Droid
-HTC HD2, Imagio

I know this isn't a phone, but Android is wasted on anything that isn't a phone (that includes MIDs and netbooks, both of which are better off with a copy of XP). As such, I'm not seeing how manufacturers, KIRF or otherwise, will benefit from having a cellphone OS on it when all it has is wifi.
don't get your hopes up. WRT North America, SE avoids CDMA networks like the plague. I'll be switching to TMo's $60/m voice+data plan after my AT&T contract expires, so I hope it'll be available at a reasonable price (unlocked probably) then.
I'm split between this and the HD2. the HD2 has a larger screen, but this is rumored to have 16gb internal storage, and a screen that should be more than sufficient for me (currently on a 3" LG Incite, cooked ROMS and all). If this is priced comparably to the HD2 unlocked and has internal storage, I'm getting it. The Zune-y interface is a winner for me. I'm glad they seem to be going for the Zune Classic big-ass album art view rather than the smaller art of the ZHD.
so does this have 16gb internal storage or not? I read here that it's shipping with a 16gb microSD and that's it, meaning that it probably has a 512MB-2GB internal storage max, but on a couple of other sites, I'm reading that it has 16gb internal. If that's not the case, I'll wait for the SE X3, which is probably coming with 16/32GB internal and has a slightly bigger screen.
overkill. i wish they'd think up these concepts and implement them ONLY AFTER there's a 8.1"-9.6" e-ink reader (for academic (JSTOR/REPEC/Journal) )PDFs, the types college and grad students spend tons of money and paper printing out (only to throw away once the paper/thesis/dissertation's done), available in the market for $199 or less.
are either of these phones gonna be 'world phones', i.e. have both CDMA and GSM bands and have a SIM slot, like the TP2 on Verizon has?
If you compare UK Expansys prices and US Expansys prices, you'll see that, VAT or not, they always add a fairly hefty premium to USD prices.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
