You should pick me (even though it's a "random" drawing, wink wink) because (a) I love gadgets, (b) I read your blog religiously every day, often several times a day, and (c) because I've never won anything in MY LIFE. Seriously. If you made me win, the universe would just crack in two, because, well, I'm not SUPPOSED to win stuff, apparently; it's like in the fabric of the universe or something. So... I dare you. I double-dog dare you. Just to see if the universe stays intact. Aren't you curious?
That's one big Kleenex box!!!
To all the people who thought this product is dumb: Use your brain. A power cable being accidentally pulled suddenly and forcefully out of your laptop is only OK if the pull happens in exactly the right manner, i.e. the right direction. If the pull happens at an angle to the line of insertion, it's pretty easy to break the power jack. I already partially broke my jack, and was worried about busting it completely.

And if you're unlucky enough to have a power adapter cable like mine, it's even worse: my plug has a right-angle on the end, so it's impossible to pull on the cord and NOT produce torque on the jack.

I can live without USB ports, without RJ-45 and certainly without RJ-11, but I can't live without recharging my laptop!!!!

And just to clarify, there's no metal in this product, it's just ABS plastic.

And FYI, the USB Jerkstopper stays in there really well. It must be tapered or something because by the time it's all the way in, it's very, very snug.

Yes, magsafe is really cool. Someday we'll all have one, but in the meantime, Jerkstopper's a cool product at a reasonable price.
I just got my JerkStopper today. Best $10 I ever spent. The article is a little unclear -- I was surprised to receive THREE Jerkstoppers, one each for RJ-45, RJ-11 and USB -- so you get to choose which port you'd rather destroy than your power jack. C'mon, anybody really use RJ-11 any more?

I use the USB one, I have three ports so if I destroy one, no big. Plus the USB Jerkstopper fits really tight, it wouldn't come out unless you pull on it directly with your fingers, a normal yank on the power cord won't dislodge it.

Until I get a new laptop with a magnetic power connection, this is really, really an awesome product.
Uh, duh, folks, bluetooth headsets don't answer the phone. It was the phone itself that was responding to voice commands. Duh. Could've been a wired headset or earpiece for that matter.
Oh, and product link for DSM-750 is: http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=547&sec=1
This question is of great interest to me too.

Personally, I'm holding off until the D-Link DSM-750 media player hits the market, which should be soon. Draft-N and H.264 support seems crucial, and this box is gonna have it. D-Link's previous media streamers were crap (e.g. their latest supposedly-HD offering didn't even support HD JPEGs) But hopefully they've learned from their mistakes.
I'm sorry, did you say, end of 2008? Man, that's an eternity away. Why even talk about this? There'll be plenty of sub-$200 HD & Blue-Ray players by then, if not sub-$100.

Snooze.
Anybody who doesn't back up their data to a separate device, gets no sympathy whatsoever. None. Period. Cry all you want. Boo hoo. If you have to learn the hard way, so be it. But I doubt most people will ever learn, despite having their laptop stolen/hard drive crash/virus that wipes everything out, etc.
This looks to be an updated version of the Archos XS202, which I own, and is one damn fine player. The key ability for me is that you can create MULTIPLE playlists on the go, unlike Apple's one-shot On-The-Go Playlist, which last I checked didn't even work right on their 8gb nanos.

Also, you can simply drag-and-drop tunes to this player, unlike the iTunes slavery that Apple forces upon you.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
