"I worked at Best Buy for about 1.5 years..."

...now that this is out in the spotlight I'm sure the empluyees will be a little less ignorant."

Oh, the irony.

"LoL @ the black dude dressed as Luigi."

That's Leroy, not Luigi.
"Available Martin and Lewis or Amos and Andy"

Um, isn't that a bit on the racist edge?
Hey Engadget (i.e. Paul Miller) looks like MS has filed for a patent of the binary system. I guess that trumps Cisco's patent for Triple Play IP services.

Microsoft Patents Ones, Zeroes

P.S.

In case you don't read the article (kinda like the USPTO article), it's SATIRE.
Did anyone else catch the "Raptop Computer?" logo or is it just me with the keen eye for Engrish?.
"Stopping encryption of DVDs entirely and doing day-and-date movie releasing would net them greater profit, but they seem to have closed their eyes to any such ideas."

I totally agree otakucode. I would be willilng to pay a premium for a 24-hour movie as long as it was an actual new release and not something that has been at BlockBuster/NetFlix for 1-2 months anyway. But until that happens, I will continue to use ThePirateBay to get my new releases. :-)

"I didn't know engadget was frequented by so many racist pricks."

At least we (the pricks) have the candor to make slight of fairly widely accepted circa 1993 stereotype surreptitiously without the need for overt, slanderous candor or even blatenly, unsubstantiated racist remarks about all persons of a particular race (i.e. Mexicans in your example).

I for one am ashamed of you Softgun. You have learned nothing from watching Mind of Mencia; your unwitty retort is not on the caliber of the typical viewers loyal to Mind of Mencia.

If you can't write anything witty, then don't write anything at all...Dee-dee-dee!
Yes, it's called a "lost leader" in the world of retail. Best Buy does it all the time (anyone remember last Spring the 512MB memory which sold for $35 minus the $35 instant savings if installed by Best Buy? They were hoping you'd get more PC parts installed or upgrade to more expensive memory. Many people exploited this and got free Kingston memory -- myself included.)

Anyway, I'm surprised the WindowsXP license alone is less than $100.
Way to be so ahead of the curve Engadget!

And to add insult to injury, there is no touch screen present. The JM53 instead has "a unique controller system that blends a rocker switch and buttons." check out the link to the pics posted by Jinni. There are navigation buttons present.

You *can* touch the screen but it won't do much.

Friggin Engadget 'Tards!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
