The "best" part is the numbers are looking at max power consumption, which is an unrealistic metric for plasma TVs since their power consumption varies dependent on the image on the screen. Typical TV content has a rather low APL so they aren't really power hogs. An LCD TV on the other hand uses basically the same amount of power all the time (excluding sets that dim their backlight).

Perhaps California can implement a ban on bad legislation next.
Except it does work with the Intel 4500MHD chipset if you have the latest / brand new .1986 drivers installed.
Uh... The SU2300 is a dual core chip and is not the same as a 743.
Or even a Dual Core CULV SU2300 based system for $399 like the US Acer 1410.
That's because between when ION was announced / the netbook ION hype started, and when ION netbooks actually started shipping Intel dropped the CULV bomb on the market.

Look at something like a $599 Acer 1810T (w/ SU7300) and compare it to the $599 Ideapad S12, and tell me what the S12 still has going for it?

Or perhaps even worse, compare the $399 Acer 1410 (w/ SU2300) to the Ideapad S12. It's $200 cheaper, has a vastly superior CPU, and it's Intel GS45 (4500MHD) chipset isn't too bad.
No, they have it right. Per the press release the x810T models are SU7300 based and the x810TZ models are SU4100 based. Both are dual core.
I put a 30GB OCZ Vertex SSD in my HTPC, but that was to further reduce noise, not to gain performance.
I'm sure that's not quiet enough for any HTPC I'd build. It needs passive cooling, which is a big stretch given it's TDP.
Well, it is running Vista.
Of course all of this neglects the fact that Buffalo doesn't sell any USB flash drives in the US after Sandisk sued them for patent infringment, so the vast majority of the people commenting can't even get one.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
