I could definitely use one of these to keep in touch with all of my friends who are studying abroad this year.
1.) Obtain Windows 7 pre-order discount codes
2.) Purchase three copies of Windows 7 Home Premium
3.) ??????
4.) PROFIT

(To be honest, step 3's really not that mysterious.)
That Skype voucher would be incredibly helpful.
Why, yes, I would love a microSDHC card and reader. Thanks, Engadget, you're so thoughtful!
I might be excoriated for this, but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed Engadget's coverage of the original iPhone debut waaaaay back in January of '07.
I've been in the market for a new external HDD. I would be most pleased if I were to win this one.
As a college student, I'd love to use the Pulse smartpen for lectures where the professor often gets off on tangents while I'm still capturing the previous point -- I could listen to the audio I didn't get to concentrate on later. Another scenario would be when the professor illustrates different concepts on a single graph using different colors, an option not usually available to me -- when Livescribe adds the animated notes with synced audio feature to the Mac desktop software, I could listen along as he explains what the second line is supposed to illustrate while I drew it, instead of having to interpret the sometimes-confusing results later.
Also of note is Rogue Amoeba's MakeiPhoneRingtone, a small little freeware program you can use with any AAC file. I just imported the MP3 into iTunes, converted to AAC, dragged-and-dropped it onto the program window, and it was automatically thrown into my Ringtones folder. Simple and flawless. My favorite Ryan Block moment? I've been a fan of Ryan for as long as I've been reading Engadget, but I have to say my favorite moment has been any time Ryan has responded to -- and utterly crushed -- somebody who posted something stupid in the comments on one of his articles.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
